Biography
Ch'od was a male Saurid born on the planet Timor (Varanus IV) located in the Shi'ar Empire. He was once a slave on the planet Alsibar, where he came to meet a human by the name of Christopher Summers. (Classic X-Men v1 #15)
Alongside the Starjammers, Ch'od came to aid them against D'Ken's Imperial Guard. (X-Men v1 #107)
Ch'od battled Wonder Man and the Vision while escorting the Shi'ar nega-bomb. (Wonder Man v1 #8)
Chʼod monitored incoming Shi’ar warships through the communication console, ensuring the Starjammer remained hidden via stealth-mode sensors. When the mysterious vessel known as the Vengeful Wing attacked, Chʼod coordinated with Raza and Keeyah to reinforce shields and weapons, helping the crew evade initial detection. (Starjammers v1 #1) While the team rescued Kree refugees and evaded both Shi’ar and the Uncreated threat, Chʼod took charge of tactical intelligence—scanning for enemy escorts and relaying vital information to Corsair. He identified debris from the Uncreated vessel, enabling the crew to prepare strategically before the next encounter. (Starjammers v1 #2) In the gas-shrouded nebula, Chʼod assisted in repairing the Starjammer’s engines alongside Raza and Keeyah. He recognized spare parts from his native Timorian culture, then repurposed them to patch critical systems. Later, he extracted valuable data from Uncreated vessel debris using the ship’s scanners—uncovering their atheistic ideology. (Starjammers v1 #3) As the Uncreated prepared to clash with the Shi’ar fleet, Chʼod integrated the newfound log data into the ship’s systems. He formulated a psychological weapon—a holographic projection of the Uncreated’s slain 'god' — which was projected via mirror-throwers, triggering instant chaos and leading to the enemy’s self-destruction. (Starjammers v1 #4)
The X-Men help rescue him. Ch'od assisted when the Hulk needed help infiltrating an alien empire that was threatening the lives of his friends. (Incredible Hulk v1 #416)
Ch'od experienced the loss of his right hand after trying to prevent the abduction of Lilandra by the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. He blames himself for failing to prevent the abduction. (War of Kings v1 #1)
