Before the man who would become Mister Bones was born, his mother was subjected to experiments that mutated his DNA, causing the soft tissues of his body to be rendered invisible to the human eye and cursed him to kill anyone who touched his bare flesh, including his own mother. An attending nurse at the facility where he had been born, fearing what her employers would do to the boy, saved him and fled, raising him as her own and helping him learn to live with his powers. When he grew to be a man, Mister Bones began to track down others like himself, born with powers they could not control. After the defeat of Eclipso, Nurse Love reports to Mister Bones the situation of Green Lantern's children and the city of Blue Valley. So he decides that monitoring heroes and villains living together will be a great experiment. In the episode "Frenemies – Chapter Eight: Infinity Inc. Part 2", he is visited by Courtney Whitmore, who convinces him to let Jennie-Lynn Hayden help her brother and Bones' patient Todd Rice. Biography

Origin

Robert Todd

He was one of eight infants that were subjected to the Helix Project headed by Dr. Love. Pregnant mothers were given an experimental mutagenic drug resulting in the birth of six Metahuman offspring being born Stateside whilst two were born in the south. These included Mister Bones, Tao Jones, Penny Dreadful, Arak Wind-Walker, Kritter and Baby Boom where the six grew up northeast of L.A. (Infinity Inc. v1 #52)

Afterwards, he came to rise to the position of Director of the Department of Extranormal Operations. (Chase v1 #4)

The next assignment concerned the Agency's 'Batman File' that claimed the Batman was a corporate identity held by many figures. Director Bones dismissed these findings as he instead believed the Dark Knight to be a single highly skilled person. He looked to disprove the department's theory and after securing authorisation he had Agent Chase assigned to the case. Officially, the D.E.O. were involved in a matter concerning a mutagenic drug affecting people n Gotham City but in reality Chase was pursuing Bones goals. She was able to prove that it was a single masked vigilante with Chase looking to find the secret identity of Batman. (Chase v1 #8)

He later met with the Justice Society to inform them of the threat posed by a resurgent Kobra Cult. (JSA v1 #11)

Afterwards, the activities of the new Manhunter gained his attention and he arranged a meeting with Kate Spencer where he offered her a job as a field operative working for him. (Manhunter v3 #16)

Personality and attributes

During his supervillain career, he was known to speak in rhyme. (Infinity Inc. v1 #16) He later would stop this habit and claimed it was an affectation where he changed due to his circumstances. (JSA v1 #21)

Comments such as those that referred to him as being ugly were known to get to him leading to him to act out more recklessly against an opponent. (Infinity Inc. v1 #16)

Bones was said to dislike crowds and did not like being out in the open among people. (Chase v1 #4)

As D.E.O. Director, he said that it was his job to determine if a newly emerged superhero would either have a short stint in the role or had potential that could be cultivated by the government. (Manhunter v3 #16)

Powers and abilities

The skull-like head was not a mask but his actual face with his facial features being invisible. (Infinity Inc. v1 #16)

He was shown to possess super-strength and was easily able to knock out the likes of Fury with a blow that hurt and knocked her out of a building. (Infinity Inc. v1 #16)

It was shown that he possessed a cyanide touch whereby direct contact with his skin was enough to poison and kill a living being. (Infinity Inc. v1 #16)
