History
Zinjas were robotic assassins created by Dr. Hatani and employed by the Zin Twins, designed to look like humans. The Zinjas could move at dazzling speed, and their bodies concealed a variety of weapons. The Twins used them during the brief time when they'd inherited their "late" father's criminal empire- it is unknown if Dr. Zin himself will use them now that he's back in charge.
They were primarily deployed as covert operatives, used to execute infiltration, abductions, and sabotage missions against Dr. Quest and his companions. Their activities often included storming secure locations with overwhelming numbers, slipping into high-security facilities through stealth, and confronting the Quest team in close combat. They acted as Surd’s field agents, carrying out his orders in exchange for loyalty to his cause. In their initial attacks, they demonstrated coordinated assaults, surrounding and attempting to overwhelm their targets while showing little hesitation in using deadly force. Over subsequent encounters, the Zinjas expanded their role from simple enforcers to recurring antagonists. They acted as both bodyguards for Surd and strike forces for his schemes, appearing in numbers when brute strength was needed to counter the Quest team. In one episode, they pursued Jonny and Hadji across difficult terrain, employing climbing gear, ropes, and acrobatics to match the heroes’ escape attempts. Their willingness to act in dangerous or unstable environments — from collapsing ruins to active battlefields — showed their absolute dedication to completing missions regardless of personal risk. They often clashed with Race Bannon, who countered their martial skills with his own training, creating evenly matched fights that emphasized the Zinjas’ formidable abilities.
Overview
In appearance, the Zinjas were uniformed in traditional ninja garb with a stylized, modernized touch befitting their role as a recurring force. Their suits were typically dark in tone, favoring blacks and muted blues to aid in stealth, with full-body coverings that obscured all identifiable features. They wore masks with slits for their eyes, creating an anonymous and threatening image. Their clothing was lightweight yet durable, designed for agility in combat and silent infiltration. Each Zinjas unit looked nearly identical, emphasizing their faceless and disciplined group identity, while their equipment included climbing tools, grappling hooks, and occasionally small arms or melee weapons such as blades and batons.
Zinjas were entirely grounded in their rigorous martial and physical training. They displayed agility and speed surpassing ordinary fighters, with the ability to scale walls, leap great distances, and move silently across treacherous ground. Their combat skills covered unarmed martial arts and the proficient use of weapons, enabling them to engage multiple opponents at once. Stealth was their defining strength, as they could infiltrate facilities undetected, ambush their enemies, and vanish into shadows with practiced ease. While they did not possess superhuman powers, their discipline, numbers, and coordination made them dangerous adversaries for the Quest team, requiring teamwork and ingenuity to defeat them.
