Biography

Yoshimitsu (吉光)

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Yoshimitsu was a male of Japanese origin who possessed a countenance entirely concealed by a traditional hannya-style demon mask. This mask featured a striking white or pale complexion, prominent horns protruding from the forehead, and a grimacing mouth that hid his actual facial features. His body type was athletic and lean, though largely covered by a complex assembly of armour that gave him a mechanical or cybernetic silhouette. He wore a dark, form-fitting bodysuit underneath protective plates that guarded his torso, shoulders, and limbs. His costume was heavily influenced by traditional samurai aesthetic, featuring flared shoulder guards and segmented plating on his forearms and shins. The colour palette consisted primarily of deep blues and purples accented by gold or yellow trimmings on the armour's edges. On his back, he carried a mechanical apparatus or scabbard that housed his katana, and his overall ensemble was completed by traditional split-toe tabi footwear, presenting the image of a futuristic or supernatural warrior blending feudal Japanese tradition with mysterious technology.

Powers and abilities

Yoshimitsu demonstrated a highly unorthodox and acrobatic combat style that integrated advanced swordsmanship with supernatural or mechanical physical feats. He utilised a single katana with expert precision, performing rapid slashes and lunging stabs that capitalised on his significant reach. He exhibited the unique ability to achieve temporary flight or hovering by spinning his sword at high speeds like a helicopter blade, allowing him to descend upon opponents from the air. His mobility included the capacity to perform teleportation-like maneuvers, disappearing from one location and reappearing behind an enemy to deliver a surprise strike. He also displayed the ability to sit in a meditative "Indian sitting" posture during combat, from which he could suddenly teleport or transition into low-level slides and spins. He used his sword as a makeshift pogo stick, bouncing across the arena to avoid attacks while simultaneously striking from above. Additionally, he showed the capability to perform a self-impaling move, thrusting his blade through his own torso to hit an opponent standing directly behind him. His physical repertoire was rounded out by high-impact kicks, somersaults, and spinning back-fists that complemented his weapon-based attacks.
