Biography

Professor Starblood in Wolverine and the X-Men v1 #7.

Xanto Starblood

Starblood was an eccentric alien zoologist, author, and intergalactic bounty hunter who firmly believed a strict cosmic order had been established across millions of years. He held a deep conviction that any disruption to this precise natural balance would trigger the complete and utter destruction of the universe. Upon discovering the existence of Broo, a highly compassionate and intellectual mutant member of the naturally mindless, bloodthirsty insectoid Brood race, Starblood deemed the creature an evolutionary error that threatened cosmic stability. He journeyed toward Earth with a group of abandoned, dying extraterrestrials he had taken in and explicitly repurposed into a personal research unit. Intercepted in deep space by S.W.O.R.D. agents who intended to arrest him, Starblood instead ordered his lethal subjects to completely consume the officers. He subsequently deployed a biological distraction inside the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, releasing a virus to gestate a Brood larva inside the headmistress's body, before invading the facility to eliminate the young mutant Broodling in the name of science. Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Dr. Xanto Starblood was a massive, physically imposing male extraterrestrial whose form completely deviated from standard human physiology. His head lacked normal human facial features, instead being heavily defined by multiple elongated, biological tentacles that draped downwards from the sides of his face and jawline. He possessed large, solid yellow eyes that radiated a constant, bright luminescent glow without any visible pupils or irises. His towering physical frame was structurally built with bulky, thick-skinned limbs and heavily segmented plating running across his back and upper body, conveying a durable, armored biological composition. Instead of traditional civilian clothes or heroic costumes, his outer form was covered in a mix of utilitarian cosmic gear and structural, native carapace that left his monstrous alien physiology and glowing facial features prominently exposed. Powers and abilities

Xanto Starblood possessed an array of superhuman physical capabilities and unique alien traits suited to deep-space survival and intergalactic hunting. He exhibited massive physical power, endowing him with a high tier of superhuman strength, endurance, and bodily durability that allowed him to withstand extreme trauma and confront powerful mutants directly. His primary method of offensive combat involved the generation of energetic sigils, mystical or technological symbols that manifested around his body to amplify his innate physical strikes and discharge highly destructive energy blasts. Additionally, he displayed an exceptional, specialized command over alien fauna, possessing the unique tactical ability to domesticate, train, and direct fierce packs of specialized Brood hunters to track down targets and completely devour his adversaries on command.
