History
The Ur-Quan were an insectoid extraterrestrial species who evolved on a harsh planet that orbited a star outside the known regions of space. Their ancestors were noted to had been solitary predators that were similar to Earth's praying mantis or polar bear in that they had very limited set of social behaviours most of which dealt with sex. They had to compete for survival against many physically superior creatures resulting in them evolving intelligence and tool use.
When discovered by the Taalo, the Ur-Quan were said to had already begun exploring their solar system in crude atomic vehicles.

They were noted to had evolved on a hostile world and were the descendants of solitary hunters.
