Biography
Trish (Japanese: トリッシュ)
Trish comes to Devil May Cry one night to meet Dante. There she attempts to electrocute him, but with his demon powers, he easily overpowers her. Trish is defeated but tells Dante that she needs his help. She takes him to Mallet Island, where Mundus is planning to open the gate to the Underworld to cross over to the Human World. It is eventually revealed that Trish was actually created by Mundus as a lure to kill Dante on the island. After betraying Dante during a fight with Nightmare and trying to kill him, Dante still saves her life from falling rocks. Trish is deeply moved by this, although she still returns to her master. Later, the demon king then tries to kill Dante by using a very powerful beam from his third eye. However, Trish returns Dante's favor and sacrifices herself instead, pushing Dante out of the beam's path and allowing herself to be struck instead. Before following Mundus into the Underworld, and believing Trish to be dead, Dante utters the famous line, "I should have been the one to fill your dark soul with light!" He then leaves her with the Sparda and the Perfect Amulet. Later, cornered by a heavily mutated Mundus, Dante hears his mother's voice, and Trish bursts through the wall to aid him. She lends him her power and Mundus is defeated. With Mundus destroyed, Dante and Trish embrace, and she begins to cry. Dante tells Trish that she has become human because "Devils never cry". It is implied that she works with Dante at the newly-renamed Devil Never Cry.
Trish arrived at the Devil May Cry office in the middle of the night by violently crashing through the front entrance on a speeding motorcycle. She immediately confronted the mercenary Dante, launching into an aggressive physical assault to test his supernatural capabilities. Trish threw her motorcycle directly at him, fired multiple bursts of electricity from her hands, and drove a massive dual-edged sword straight through his chest. Upon witnessing Dante withstand the impalement through his advanced healing factor, Trish desisted from her attack and formally apologized. She revealed her deep knowledge of his family history, explaining that she was seeking his assistance to stop the impending resurrection of the demon emperor, Mundus, on Mallet Island. Dante accepted the mission based on her information, and Trish subsequently accompanied him as his guide, traveling to the remote island to infiltrate Mundus’s ancient, trap-laden castle.
After their escape from Mallet Island, Trish becomes Dante's partner and sidekick in his devil hunting business.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Trish was a demon created to mirror a human Caucasian female with a slender, athletic build and fair skin. She possessed long blonde hair styled straight and parted down the middle, deep blue eyes, and prominent facial features designed to exactly replicate Dante’s deceased mother, Eva. Her costume consisted of form-fitting, black leather attire featuring a strapless, low-cut corset top with a silver zipper running down the front. She wore matching tight black leather trousers accented by a wide black belt with a rectangular silver buckle. Her footwear consisted of calf-high black leather boots with high heels. She wore a pair of long black leather gloves that extended past her elbows and did not utilize helmets, masks, or institutional uniforms, maintaining a stylized and aggressive combat presentation.
As a puppet of Mundus, Trish was originally cruel and uncaring, but after Dante saved her, she began to develop emotions and compassion towards him, and eventually sacrificed herself to save him from Mundus's attack. After being revived, Trish joined Dante at his shop, and showed excitement at being his partner. By the time of the animated series, she has gone off on her own. She maintains a flirty and carefree attitude throughout.
Powers and abilities
Trish was a member of the demonic race who was explicitly created by the demon emperor Mundus, giving her a specialized biological status separate from naturally born entities. On a basic feats level, her artificial demonic physiology granted her superhuman physical strength, speed, and agility far surpassing standard human limits, allowing her to lift heavy motor vehicles with ease and execute exceptional acrobatic maneuvers. Her primary innate power was electrokinesis, which enabled her to generate, control, and project devastating bolts of yellow lightning from her hands to strike targets or charge physical objects. She possessed enhanced physical durability that allowed her to survive extreme kinetic impacts without sustaining injury. Additionally, she demonstrated high-level martial proficiency, showing exceptional skill in utilizing large heavy blades and operating specialized machinery like motorcycles during high-speed tactical entries.
Trish was in reality was a demon who took the form of a huamn.
Her demon power most commonly took the form of yellow lightning.
She was armed with the twin pistols Luce & Ombra. In addition, she also wielded the Sparda sword that she gave to Dante.
