History

The Tech Men were a criminal secret society that operated in the world who believed in the use of science and technology to instil order. Originally, they were known as the Epsilon Society who operated as a secret and mysterious think tank that offered membership for the smartest people in the world.

The authorities later received reports that the Epsilon Society were involved in criminal endeavours leading to its apparent shutdown following an investigation. However, in reality, its members went into hiding and rebranded themselves as the Tech Men who were dedicated in taking over Charter City.

At that time, Jonathan Rook deployed the entirety of his forces to assault Dr. C's hidden base in order to capture the Flex Fighters. This was despite advice to leave a contingent to maintain security at Rook Tower. The operation against the Flex Fighters allowed the Tech Men to sneak into the Tower and take control of it. With it under their control, Malcolm Kane revealed himself to be the secret head of the Tech Men as Number One who had take control of Rook Unlimited.

The Tech Men nearly succeeded in their plan but Stretch managed to contact his friend Erika Violette who had been exposed to Hyperflexarium giving her energy powers. With these abilities, she generated an energy wave that shut down all the Smartmark technology in the city. With their plan thwarted, Number Six ordered a retreat as the Tech Men dispersed into society to prevent their capture. Malcolm Kane attempted to rally them back under his banner to attack but he was defeated and placed under arrest.

Those they deemed suitable were invited for a meeting before a shadowy panel with them give a single offer to join and any hesitation saw them departing leaving the candidate rejected.
