Biography
John Kelly
In Paterson, New Jersey Cybertek tested Deathlok's skills against some hired mercenaries. Kelly loaded his mission programming disk and started the mission. He easily took out several mercenaries before the computer controlling the cyborg decided that Kelly's brain was an error when he tried to resist the computer's commands. It corrected this error by electrocuting and killing Kelly's brain. After reverse engineering and deconstructing the body of the original Deathlok, Luther Manning, Harlan Ryker of the Roxxon Oil subsidiary Cybertek Systems built a proto-type of a new, vastly improved Deathlok cyborg. Colonel John Kelly, a disenfranchised veteran of the Vietnam War who had recently been fired from his job as a police officer, volunteered to become a scientific guinea pig, serving as the wetware basis for Ryker's project. The remains of John Kelly's original body have been incorporated into the framework of the Deathlok cyborg. However, in his first outing as the professional soldier Deathlok he rebelled against his computer's pre-programmed mission objectives and the onboard computer system electrocuted his brain as it determined Kelly to be 'malfunctioning.' (Marvel Comics Presents v1 #62) Kelly's brain was removed from the Deathlok cyborg and William Hansen asked if he could keep it but nobody cared as Hansen took it with him. (Deathlok v1 #1) A complete back-up of Kelly's memories was stored in the Deathlok cyborg's new brain's subconscious. (Deathlok v2 #14) When Michael Collins was trapped in Nightmare's realm his subconscious took control over the Deathlok cyborg and spoke with John Kelly's voice when Deathlok's computer ran a nightmare as program. Colllins ultimately regained control over the Deathlok cyborg. (Deathlok v2 #10)
When the Deathlok Collins accessed the memories of John Kelly he accidentally released Kelly from his subconscious turning him into an artificial intelligence within the Deathlok cyborg. Kelly answered Collins any question he had on Kelly's past up until his brain was electrocuted by Deathlok's computer. When Kelly was done talking to Collins the computer couldn't shut him down anymore and stayed as the voice of anger in Deathlok's head. When Deathlok went to Roxxon's Clayton Burr to learn the whereabouts of his human body Kelly's voice kept telling him to hurt Burr because he was not telling them everything. Kelly decided to keep the Deathlok cyborg after Collins returned into his own body. Deathlok later flew to Paris, France to get his body. (Deathlok v2 #17) Kelly kept telling Deathlok to kill their enemies while the Deathlok fought members of ULTIMATUM. When Silver Sable and the Wild Pack arrived to help them Kelly was pleased by their violent natures. When Deathlok, Silver Sable and the Wild Pack found Cybertek's lab in Paris Kelly was angered at Deathlok's lack of self preservation and mocked him while Ben Jacobs and Cyberwarriors beat him up. (Deathlok v2 #18)
They came to find the Genesis Coalition's thirty Cyberwarriors trying to take over Wundagore Mountain, which they wanted to use as their headquarters. The Coalition's sensors wrongly identify Kelly as another Cyberwarrior, so he caught them by surprise by unexpectedly attacking the other Cyberwarriors. One the Coalition determined that Kelly was not one of their Cyberwarriors with faulty programming, they decided to attack him - but then Kelly was joined by the defenders of the mountain, the Knights of Wundagore. The Coalition retired, abandoning the Cyberwarriors to cover their retreat, just when the Wild Pack's Stealthcraft arrived, later joined by mercenary team Next Wave, also after the Genesis Coalition. Wild Pack member Quentino used a fallen Cyberwarrior to broadcast a signal to switch every other Cyberwarrior off, except Kelly. Next Wave's Turk mistakenly believed that Kelly was an unaffected Cyberwarrior and would have attacked him, but was stopped by Wild Pack's Chen. Kelly confirmed that the last Cyberwarrior of the Paris operation had been stopped, and insisted that Sable destroy them, to which she agreed. Sable appreciated working with Kelly again, and agreed to hire him as a freelance in the future. (Silver Sable and the Wild Pack v1 #12)
Kelly discovered that his former partner Danny had been assigned to a mission in a pacified country in the Middle East. After a recent war that Kelly had not fought in, the losing country had to accept periodic security sweeps of American fighter planes, but the country had staged attacks against those fighters. Seeing his compatriots in danger in foreign airspace. (Deathlok Annual v1 #2)

Personality and attributes
Powers and abilities
Siege possesses a massive cyborg body. The left half of his face is in a semi-decomposed state. The right half of his face is in an armored cybernetic implant. He is an excellent hand-to-hand combatant with extensive combat training. Siege's built-in database is capable of a myriad of functions, including long-range surveillance and tracking systems and self-diagnostic and repair functions. As Kelly's personality and mental patterns have been encoded into the Siege cyborg body in machine language, Siege is impervious to mental scans. Siege's simplified digestive system can only absorb a liquid nutrient formula; he cannot digest ordinary food. Siege cannot feel any tactile sensations.
He also possesses a wide array of weapons and sensor systems, as well as jet boosters built into his legs enabling flight at supersonic speeds. Siege's cyborg body possesses a built-in Gatling assembly on his right forearm capable of discharging 100 low-yield plasma bursts per second. His right forearm contains a built-in plasma cannon capable of significantly more powerful discharges. He wears a woven metal-mesh body suit of considerable durability. His paraphernalia was designed and manufactured by former Cybertek scientists including Ben Jacobs, Stanley Cross, Dr. Hu, Dr. Fox, and Dr. Borruso.
