Biography
Ren
While Ren and Marinda sparred on the Night Buzzard while en route to their destination, he confessed to his knights that Qi'ra's provided them with access codes along with a map of the fortress. When some of his comrades questioned the idea of infiltrating the fortress, Ren claimed that they needed to strike now that the Emperor was busy with 'bigger fish' before he had a chance to get them. Once they arrived at the plains of Gahenn on Mustafar, the knights made their way to an old entrance with their bikes. The entrance was covered by lava, which prompted Ren and his knights to use the dark side of the Force to remove the lava and clear the path. The knights entered the Sith cave so they could go into the fortress undetected. After entering the castle, they were spotted by Vaneé, who called various lava troopers to attack to knights. Ren sliced through his enemies with his lightsaber while his knights blasted the troopers. The knights eventually made it to Darth Vader's vault, and Ren managed to recover the screaming key after using the Force to locate it. As they realized that the troopers left, the knights saw Vader arrive to deal with his uninvited guests. After Vader choked one of the knights to death, Ren told the rest to leave while he took on Vader himself. The knight and the Dark Lord of the Sith briefly dueled, and Vader managed to slash Ren in the torso before Ren jumped out of the castle and arrived safely on the ground thanks to the Force. The Knights of Ren then successfully escaped the fortress with the key on their possession.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Ren was a tall, imposing human male with burn scars covering much of his face, giving him a fearsome, almost corpse-like visage. He often wore a black mask with angular metal plating, concealing his features beneath a hooded cloak and battle armor composed of scavenged alloys and leather straps. His outfit bore the aesthetic of a warlord and nomadic raider rather than a disciplined warrior, reflecting the chaotic and self-made nature of his order. His weapon of choice was a blood-red lightsaber with a single, serrated blade—an unrefined but brutally effective design that symbolized his disregard for elegance or tradition. The scars he bore were self-inflicted, remnants of his initiation into the dark side.
Ren was charismatic, predatory, and wholly devoted to his philosophy of freedom through the dark side. He rejected notions of absolute good or evil, viewing morality as a weakness that constrained the powerful. Unlike the Sith, who sought domination through control, Ren valued chaos as a means of liberation. He was confident and manipulative, often speaking in riddles or challenges meant to test others’ convictions. Despite his brutality, Ren exhibited moments of dark humor and perverse camaraderie with his followers, ruling them as much through respect as fear. His belief that the Force should serve desire rather than duty made him both an anarchist and a prophet of self-indulgence, embodying a raw and primal interpretation of the dark side rarely seen in the galaxy’s history.
Powers and abilities
Ren was a human and thus possessed all the physical traits and limitations of his species. However, his connection to the Force granted him powers beyond the capacity of ordinary beings. Through the dark side, he could enhance his strength, speed, and reflexes, allowing him to move and strike with lethal precision in battle. He was capable of telekinesis, using the Force to hurl opponents or deflect blaster fire, and he demonstrated limited precognition in combat. His most notable skill lay in his ability to channel the Force through instinct rather than training, relying on raw emotion and aggression to fuel his attacks. Though not as refined as a Sith Lord or Jedi Master, Ren’s physical conditioning, feral combat style, and mastery of intimidation made him a formidable warrior feared across the Outer Rim.
