- Rek-Rap was created by Zeb Wells and Ed McGuinness where he made his first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man v6 #17 (January, 2023).
- In the letter pages for Amazing Spider-Man v6 #42 (2024), it was revealed that the concept of Rek-Rap came from an idea by Ed McGuinness in the 1980s where it was pitched to Zeb Wells and the editors of Amazing Spider-Man v6 who loved it with Wells further developing the concept.
