Biography

Parker-Man and Spider-Man in Amazing Spider-Man v6 #37.

An unnamed male demon came to reside in the realm of Limbo. In this time, Limbo was under the rule of Madelyne Pryor who embarked on a scheme against the mortal world. This saw Limbo once again intruding upon New York City with the demonic realm became a twisted reflection of the city. J. Jonah Jameson came to find himself kidnapped by the mentally unstable Chasm who brought him to a copy of the Daily Bugle. Whilst there, he was hounded by demons making a mockery of his life with the unnamed demon and others of his kind wearing parody human forms such as wearing suits. In this time, the unnamed demon was making fun of humans when he drew the ire of a larger shark-like one who planned to eat his head off. At the time, Peter Parker was in Limbo where he stumbled on Rek-Rap and saved the smaller demon by knocking the larger one aside. This incidental act of saving his life came to see the unnamed demon beginning to idolise Parker Pete-Man. As part of his scheme against Spider-Man, Reilly had mutated a group of lowly demons into forms that resembled those of the Sinister Six. Calling them the Insidious Six, he presented them to the demon queen Madylene Pryor where at this time 'Parker Pete-Man' petitioned to join where he wore a Spider-Man shirt. Chasm though had no need for heroes and wanted villains for use against Spider-Man. Before they could apprehend him, the unnamed demon escaped and began calling himself Parker-Man. Distraught, the weak Parker-Man walked down the streets of the demonic city when he was approached by an alchemist. He intended to test his new creation that was said to be able to empower others with Parker-Man agreeing to the terms. This saw a copy of his Spider-Man shirt being fed to a captive Symbiote whose body was transfigured by magic. Becoming a living costume, it bonded to 'Parker-Man' who decided to use it to become a hero. Going out, he arrived just in time to help save Spider-Man from the Insidious Six where he introduced himself by his new name Rek-Rap. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #17)

Overview

Personality and attributes

Originally, he was a small skinny demon with grey skin, a bald head and large pink eyes. After boding to a magically changed Symbiote, he gained a much larger physique that was based on Spider-Man. At first, the demon after being saved by Peter Parker decided to name himself after his hero and went by Parker-Man. This was until Chasm said he got the name wrong at which point after gaining powers he began to go by Rek-Rap. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #17)

He came to be enamoured with Peter Parker after the hero was in Limbo and saved him from a larger demon. This saw him coming to idolise the person he knew as Parker Pete-Man. Unlike other demons, he did not want to be a villain but rather sought to be a hero. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #17)

Powers and abilities

Originally, Rek-Rap was a diminutive small skinny demon who appeared quite weak. He was never chosen for the demonic experiments made by Chasm to empower lowly demons and giving them superpowers. However, he was discovered by a demonic alchemist looking to test his latest creation. This involved a captive piece of a Symbiote that was fed a Spider-Man shirt whereupon it was transfigured by magic. This changed the Symbiote by merging it with the costume forming a living material that began to bond with Rek-Rap. This transformed Rek-Rap giving him a more muscular form and one that closely resembled Spider-Man though somewhat exaggerated. (Amazing Spider-Man v6 #17)
