History
The Ocularis Infernum (Latin: Eye of Hell) was a supernatural, omniscient entity located in the depths of Hell. Its origins traced back to the 15th century, when an astronomer and astrologer named Basileus was possessed by a demonic entity said to be the Devil. Under this possession, he authored an ancient prophetic book known as the Arcanum, which detailed blueprints for a complex 'machine' designed to open a gateway to the Eye which would be powered by the 12 spirits of the Black Zodiac. Once activated through the sacrifice of the final ghost referred to as the 'Broken Heart' intended to be someone who died willingly out of pure love then the Ocularis Infernum was meant to grant its user god-like powers. By controlling the Eye, the user would have gained the ability to see everything across time and space, including the past, the future, Heaven, and Earth, ultimately allowing them to dominate all of mankind.
For centuries, the blueprints remained hidden in the Arcanum, while many people reportedly died attempting to obtain the book and its promise of god-like power. This ancient history established the Eye not merely as a legend, but as a reachable source of ultimate dominance. Cyrus Kriticos learnt of the machine and desired its power so he began a campaign of capturing the relevant spirits to power the device. After which, he faked his death and gave his mansion to a member of his extended family namely Arthur Kriticos, constructed of a glass house with latin symbols with the centre holding the Ocularis Infernum. However, ultimately his plan failed and machine was destroyed with the spirits being set free.
Overview
In appearance, the Ocularis Infernum was described as a hellish, omniscient eye organ located deep within the pits of Hell, though its physical manifestation on Earth was realized through the central core of the Basileus Machine. This infernal mechanism sat at the heart of the glass-walled mansion and consisted of a massive, rotating crest of concentric metal rings etched with the arcane symbols of the Black Zodiac. These rings were designed to spin around a central void where the 'Eye' would eventually open once the thirteen ghosts were successfully sacrificed to power the device. The entire structure was encased in ectobar glass panels etched with Latin containment spells, creating a terrifying landscape of shifting mechanical gears and translucent barriers. When fully activated, this ocular machine was intended to transform into a celestial-like gateway, serving as a conduit for its user to gaze through the Eye of Hell to witness the past, future, Heaven, and Earth simultaneously.
The Ocularis Infernum itself was a powerful, omniscient entity located in the depths of Hell that possessed the ability to see everything across time and space, including the past, future, Heaven, and Earth.
Basileus designed blueprints for an elaborate 'machine' that was a house-like structure powered by the kinetic energy of these thirteen ghosts to act as a conduit to open and control this infernal eye. The purpose of the machine was to allow a person to see things past and present which would allow one person to rule the world easily. In order to work, a 13th spirit was required which would willingly sacrifice itself in order to start the machine.
