Biography

Mr. Gentleman (Japanese: ジェントルメン, Hepburn: Jentorumen) was a male entity who had lived a long lifespan and had been secretly the world.

Afterwards, the Special Projects Division was responsible for heading an initiative known as the Gentleman Books.

Mr. Gentleman presided over the highest echelons of the British Library’s Special Operations Division, commanding Joseph Carpenter to orchestrate a global retrieval initiative targeting dangerous, super-powered historical clones known as the I-Jin. Operating from a highly fortified subterranean command complex hidden directly beneath the Great Court of the British Museum, Mr. Gentleman closely monitored his field agents as they encountered severe tactical subversion, including an internal security breach executed by his own double-agent, Nancy Makuhari. Expressing deep strategic reservations regarding the unpredictable nature and unkempt personal presentation of his primary operative, Yomiko Readman, Mr. Gentleman openly questioned Joseph Carpenter’s unyielding faith in her unorthodox operational capabilities. Despite his vocal doubts regarding the mission's likelihood of success, Mr. Gentleman refrained from countermanding the deployment, ultimately remaining within his secure headquarters while his frontline operatives successfully infiltrated the I-Jin floating fortress to destroy the rogue genetic constructs and secure the stolen artifacts.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Mr. Gentleman was an elderly male human who functioned as the secret, sovereign architect behind the political infrastructure of the United Kingdom. He possessed a frail, heavily withered physical build and a remarkably short, hunched stature brought about by extreme biological longevity, contrasting sharply with his imposing political authority. His face was deeply lined with age, characterized by pale skin, narrow eyes, and a long, sweeping white beard that extended down past his chest, paired with a matching mane of thin white hair. His attire consisted of an elegant, historical British ensemble that featured a tailored, dark green frock coat worn over a formal buttoned vest, a stiff wing collar, and a dark necktie. He completed this wardrobe with a prominent, dark top hat positioned on his head and a formal walking cane that he utilized to support his fragile physical framework.

He began to devote his resources into extending his own life.

Powers and abilities

On a basic feats level, his advanced age and physical decay severely restricted his direct martial capabilities, rendering him entirely dependent on security details, physical walking aids, and mechanized containment facilities to ensure his daily survival. He possessed a transcendent, genius-level intellect and a calculating tactical mind that enabled him to direct global espionage networks, maintain absolute information control over the Western hemisphere, and command highly specialized metahuman task forces like the Paper Masters. Mr. Gentleman held no supernatural physical immunities to blunt force trauma or biological illnesses, meaning his extreme longevity was maintained entirely through specialized regional herbology, advanced medical monitoring, and the calculated conservation of his remaining life energies.

His lifespan was far beyond that of humans as he was able to live for thousands of years. Despite that, he was not truly immortal as he had a finite lifespan. By the modern age, he had reached the end of his incredibly long life and was approaching his death. It was said that if he did not exert his power than he could extend his life by another century before perishing.

An attempt was made to preserve his knowledge in a human host but it was said that no normal human mind was capable of holding that intellect. These were divided into a number of books that included:

  • The Book of Clairvoyant Eyes :
  • The Book of Empowering Arms :
  • The Book of Essential Blood :
  • The Book of Hurrying Legs :
  • The Book of Pulsing Meat :
  • The Book of Rising Intellect :
  • The Book of Supporting Bones :

He was regarded as the true source of Britain's secret power over global affairs.
