Biography
Megumi Fushiguro (Japanese: 伏ふし黒ぐろ恵めぐみ, Hepburn: Fushiguro Megumi?) was a male human born on December 22, 2002 as the son of Toji Fushiguro (伏ふし黒ぐろ甚とう爾じ Fushiguro Tōji?) and thus a member of the Zenin Family (禪ぜん院いん家け Zenin Ke?) who were a clan of Jujutsu Sorcerers.
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Megumi Fushiguro appeared as a tall, dark-haired boy with light green eyes and spiky dark blue hair.
In personality, Megumi was defined by his quiet intensity. He often appeared distant or brooding, speaking only when necessary, but his thoughts carried a weight of introspection far beyond his years. He possessed a natural sense of leadership, preferring careful analysis to impulsive action, yet his humility kept him from arrogance. Beneath his calm surface lay a deep sense of guilt and duty, particularly toward his sister Tsumiki, whose condition motivated much of his resolve. His rare moments of vulnerability—when his composure broke and emotion surfaced—revealed the humanity behind his discipline.
Though appearing to be stoic and calculating, Megumi wished to help protect people he saw as being good or kind. He believed that the world was unfair and that a sorcerer was a tool to ensure kind people are given more chances to live.
Megumi could also be quite callous when discussing the deaths of criminals and killers as he believed they were not worth saving.
Fushiguro was a secretive person who did not like to talk about his past.
He had a sibling in the form of a step-sister named Tsumiki Fushiguro (伏黒ふしぐろ津美紀つみき Fushiguro Tsumiki?) after his father married her mother. She was said to had cared deeply for her step-brother Megumi and would often times scold him for getting himself into many fights.
As Megumi’s strength grew, so too did the shadow of his lineage. The Zen’in clan sought to reclaim him, viewing his talent as a means to restore their fading prestige. Yet Megumi rejected their traditions, choosing instead to forge his own path under Gojo’s guidance. His defiance symbolized his belief that strength without integrity was meaningless. Though he inherited the Zen’in name, he defined himself not by blood but by conviction, proving that legacy did not dictate destiny. This ideological rift made him a target of both admiration and resentment within the jujutsu hierarchy.
Despite their contrasting personalities, the two shared a mutual respect that evolved into genuine brotherhood. Megumi often acted as Yuji’s grounding force, reminding him of the harsh realities of their world while quietly admiring Yuji’s compassion. Their bond deepened through battles and shared losses, as Megumi learned to value emotional strength alongside rational discipline. Over time, this connection softened his detached demeanor, revealing a rare capacity for empathy beneath his stoic exterior.
Powers and abilities
Megumi Fushiguro was a human descendant to the Zenin family who were one of the ultimate clans dominating the world of sorcery. He entered Jujutsu High as a Grade 2 sorcerer where he was considered to have high potential. Several individuals had taken an interest in Megumi as a result with these including Noritoshi Kamo, Mai Zenin, Satoru Gojo and even Sukuna himself. According to Sukuna, Fushiguro showed a willingness towards using hand-to-hand combat that made him different from other shikigami users as he was able to use his physical attacks in combination with his shikigami to entrap his opponent. Such was his skill and power that he was able to contend with and even defeat special grade cursed spirits.
Such was his large reserve of cursed energy that he could summon Divine Dog: Totality, Nue, Toad, Rabbit Escape twice in a row. Megumi’s abilities as a jujutsu sorcerer were centered around the Ten Shadows Technique, a hereditary power of the Zen’in clan that allowed him to summon and control shikigami—spiritual familiars forged from cursed energy. Through this technique, he could manifest beings such as Divine Dogs, Nue, and Max Elephant, each serving specific combat purposes. Unlike other sorcerers, Megumi’s style emphasized versatility and strategy over brute strength, adapting his summons to control the battlefield and outthink opponents. However, his incomplete mastery left him vulnerable to overexertion, forcing him to constantly balance his ambition with restraint.
Among the techniques known to him included:
- Ten Shadows Technique (十種影法術 Tokusa no Kage Bōjutsu?) :
- Divine Dogs (玉犬 Gyokuken?) :
- Divine Dog: Totality (玉犬「渾」 Gyokuken・Kon?) :
- Nue (鵺 Nue?) :
- The Well's Unknown Abyss (不知井底せいていしらず Seiteishirazu?) :
- Max Elephant (満ばん象しょう Banshō?) :
- Rabbit Escape (脱だっ兎と Datto?) :
Later on, he came to learn the art of Domain Expansion (領りょう域いき展てん開かい Ryōiki Tenkai?) that was an advanced barrier technique whereby he was able to call forth an Innate Domain (生得領域しょうとくりょういき Shōtoku Ryōiki?). In his case, he was able to summon his own unique domain that was called Chimera Shadow Garden (嵌かん合ごう暗あん翳えい庭てい Kangō An'eitei?).
In addition, he had started to train with polearms under Maki Zenin and was able to wield weapons with a sufficient level of skill.
In battle, Megumi combined intelligence with adaptability. He fought not only with his shikigami but also through direct combat, using hand-to-hand techniques enhanced by cursed energy. His preferred approach was to manipulate the environment, create diversions, and strike from unexpected angles, reflecting his role as a tactician rather than a brute-force fighter. Over time, he began experimenting with fusing shikigami and cursed energy into new forms, seeking to overcome the inherent limitations of his technique. His progression from a cautious fighter to a confident innovator marked his transformation from student to prodigy.
He came to be a student who enrolled at Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School (東京都立呪術高等専門学校 Tōkyō Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō?, lit. Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College).
