Mature’s existence was defined by her sacred duty as one of the Hakkesshu, the eight elite scions of the serpent deity Orochi. Long before she adopted the guise of a modern professional, she existed as a member of a reincarnating cult whose sole purpose across centuries was to dismantle the seals binding their master. Her history took a pivotal turn when the leader of the Hakkesshu, Leopold Goenitz, confronted the powerful arms dealer Rugal Bernstein. After Goenitz effortlessly defeated Rugal and granted him a small sliver of Orochi’s power as an experiment, he commanded Mature and her partner, Vice, to infiltrate Rugal’s inner circle. Posing as sophisticated secretaries, Mature spent years meticulously monitoring Rugal’s mental and physical stability to determine if a human could serve as a viable host for their god. During this period of surveillance, she cultivated a ruthless and toying persona, growing genuinely intrigued by Rugal’s sadistic nature while simultaneously preparing the groundwork for the 1994 tournament that would bring the world's strongest fighters together for his collection—and her master's eventual awakening.
