Biography
Origin
Levi Kamei
Jennifer Reece and Sprout convinced him to rectify his mistakes leading to him attempting to perform his duty as an avatar. In his avatar form, he manifested in Detroit to join Jack Hawksmoor to confront a disturbance in the city. This was a newly formed idea based on the concept of industry with this manifesting as the Parliament of Gears. The newly formed Parliament had created the Factory as a manifestation of itself with this processing the homeless leading to their death as it transformed their flesh into building material. The two then looked to starve this nascent idea where Hawksmoor looked to use his connection to the city to deprive the Factory of energy and power. As a result, the Factory responded by creating a construct forged from metal and flesh to attack the pair. Kamei battled the creature but as he was far from the Green he was in a weaker state and thus struggled against the monster. However, he delayed it long enough for Hawksmoor to intervene who injured it enough for Levi to destroy it by having plant-life consume the construct where it was reclaimed by the earth. Kamei then went to meet the Parliament of Trees to inform them of the danger but they had lost faith in the new avatar who they deemed to had slept too long in their role. They had decided to wage war against the new Parliament of Gears and required an avatar more suited for the task where they looked to Levi's brother Jacob. This saw Kamei being banished from the Parliament but he came to meet a benefactor which was a tree who had first suggested Levi to be their new avatar. (The Swamp Thing v1 #13)

Notes
- Levi Kamei was created by Ram V and Mike Perkins where he made his first appearance in Infinite Frontier v1 #0 (May, 2021).
- In an [ interview] on CBR, Ram V commented on the character's creation, "Levi was very much part of my original pitch. Back when DC editorial invited a proposal for the series, I knew that part of my creative endeavor was to develop the sort of story that truly embodied the idea that Superheroes belong to the world. I also felt, particularly with Swamp Thing, that Alec Holland was a character of his time. There were so many stories told around the character that the greater arcs eventually led to interpersonal drama set around him and his relationships. I found that reductive. So, I thought of tethering the Swamp Thing to a new host. Someone new, who came from a different part of the world and a different cultural perspective. It felt like a character from the present would generate new and interesting stories."
