Biography
Lazarus was a Roman who first founded the Darkwatch society in 66 AD in order to battle the real reason Rome fell; vampires. In his early years, Lazarus was known to have gained the ultimate power over darkness by bending a demonic spirit to his will. However, the demon ended up possessing Lazarus which resulted in him becoming an even greater menace to the world. He quickly turned on the organization he founded and nearly destroyed it but was defeated.
The vampire lord was pursued all across Europe by the Darkwatch and ultimately to America where he was finally vanquished. His dark soul was being transported to the Darkwatch Citadel by a train which was raided by a bandit known as Jericho Cross who believed treasures layed within the heavily defended wagon. Despite the best efforts of Cassidy Sharp, the seal holding Lazarus was broken and he was freed. The vampire lord quickly attempted to kill all those Humans around him and raised an undead army to aid him in his task. Though the bandit Jericho and Cassidy at first managed to elude him, Lazarus was eventually able to catch up to them.
Lazarus slayed Cassidy and cursed Jericho Cross by transforming him into a half vampiric being rather then killing him. The vampire lord enjoyed the concept of turning Jericho onto the path of evil. During this time, he went on to search for the Deadlight Prism to magnify his powers but was thwarted by the Darkwatch. The organization was, however, betrayed by betrayed by one of their own and Lazarus entered the Citadel's treasury where he absorbed the artefact's powers which made him into a much larger demonic bat-winged vampire. Seeing Jericho Cross standing in his way, Lazarus attempted to slay his opponent but was ultimately vanquished.
- The game allows the player either to go down the path of evil or good, if they choose evil then Lazarus's powers are absorbed by the player making a new vampire lord though if they choose the path of good then Tala absorbs the remains of Lazarus's powers in order to accomplish her goals.
