Kron Stone

Kron grew to become a homicidal criminal, having started a murderous gang with three other like-minded individuals going by the name of Skin Posse. Due to his difficult time with his family, Kron wished to kill every happy family he and his gang encountered, one of which was Jake Gallows' family. Seeing them in a zoo, Kron simmered at the family's happiness and had gave his men the order to kill them, with him personally gunning down Jake's brother Baldur. Jake attempted to fight back and managed to kill one of the Posse's members, but this only caused the gang to shoot him in his legs. Kron proceeded to kill Jake's mother as well before going up to Baldur's wife Astra. Astra attempted to use her skills in psychology to reason with him and convince that they were truly a happy family, but Kron told her that all families held dark secrets and would cause misery to their members. Telling her that this was a mercy kill, he shot her down. Jake again tried to fight back, leading the Posse to easily subdue him, leaving Jake to beg Kron to also end his life. Kron refused as his only aim was to destroy families and had nothing personal against Jake. Kron was later caught by the Public Eye and put on trial. He was found guilty, but was only fined 2.2 mega dollars and required to undergo a micro-brain surgery to cure his anti-social behavior which he brushed off thanks to his Black Card. In the courtroom, he approached Jake, and told him that human life was practically worthless and he was sure that Jake would just get over his family's death. Enraged, Jake attempted to strangulate Kron on the spot, forcing security to separate the two men and escort Kron out. (Punisher 2099 v1 #1)

Notes

  • Kron Stone was created by Pat Mills, Tony Skinner and Tom Morgan where he made his first appearance in Punisher 2099 v1 #1 (December, 1992).
  • The character later debuted as Venom 2099 in Spider-Man 2099 v1 #35 (July, 1995).
  • One of John Romita's unused concepts for Venom 2099 resembled a Xenomorph, possessing a tail and spikes protruding from its shoulders and back.

Video games

The Scorpion in Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions.
  • In Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, Kron Stone as Scorpion 2099 appeared in the setting of the 2010 video game where he was voiced by actor John Kassir. Stone appeared as a grotesque, biological mutation known as Scorpion 2099 rather than his traditional symbiotic form. After stealing a fragment of the Tablet of Order and Chaos, Stone's already unstable DNA was further mutated by the relic's mystical power, granting him immense size, a massive mechanical stinger, and the ability to produce a swarm of smaller, parasitic offspring. He retreated into the restricted laboratories of Alchemax, where he used the facility's genetic equipment to create a nest and protect his prize. When Spider-Man 2099 tracked him down, Stone engaged in a brutal cat-and-mouse game through the neon-lit corridors, eventually leading the hero to a massive incubator chamber for a final confrontation. During the battle, Stone utilized his incredible speed and toxic projectiles to overwhelm the wall-crawler, but he was ultimately outmanoeuvred when Spider-Man used the laboratory's own environmental hazards against him. Once defeated, the fragment was reclaimed, and Stone was left incapacitated within the ruins of his makeshift hive, ending his brief reign of terror over the futuristic city.
  • In Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Kron Stone hade a cameo appearance in the setting of the 2011 video game in a non-voiced role. He was shown as a prisoner within the altered Alchemax timeline where he was held in a high-security containment cell within the Alchemax Research Center, where the corporation studied his unique physiology as a biological mutate. Spider-Man 2099 navigated the facility to prevent the death of Peter Parker, he briefly encountered Stone trapped behind a reinforced glass wall. While Stone did not directly engage in battle or influence the primary plot involving the timeline-warping Walker Sloan, his presence served as a grim reminder of the corporation’s habit of using its own family members as lab specimens. He spent the duration of the narrative confined and under surveillance, a stark contrast to his previous status as a central antagonist, ultimately remaining a passive observer to the reality-altering conflict occurring around him.
