Biography

Powder

In Zaun, she had been an innocent girl who was a tinkerer with big ideas where she never quite fit in with anyone.

Jinx was a manic, impulsive, and fiercely unpredictable anarchist from the polluted undercity of Zaun who became infamous across the twin cities for her wanton acts of destruction. While a few citizens remembered her as a relatively innocent, tinkering girl who never quite fit in, she exploded onto the public stage by launching a series of anonymous, high-stakes 'pranks' targeting Piltover's wealthy merchant clans. Her chaotic crimes escalated from moderately annoying stunts—such as replacing all the city's street signs to confusing locations—to criminally dangerous acts of terror, including releasing a stampede of exotic animals to disrupt the sacred Progress Day celebrations. Operating with complete disregard for political power, wealth, or her own safety, Jinx treated the entire golden city as her personal canvas for loud, colorful explosions. She established a legendary, adversarial obsession with the Piltovan Wardens, deliberately painting teasing graffiti across the city to taunt her favorite target, the pink-haired enforcer Vi, and firmly cementing her reputation as the city's most elusive threat.

She first gained notoriety through her anonymous 'pranks' on the citizens of Piltover with these particularly being aimed at those with connections to the wealthy merchant clans. These pranks ranged from the moderately annoying to the criminally dangerous. She blocked streets on Progress Day, with a stampede of exotic animals freed from Count Mei’s menagerie. She disrupted trade for weeks when she lined the city’s iconic bridges with adorably destructive flame chompers. Once, she even managed to move every street sign in town to new and utterly confusing locations. Her actions always served to bring the city’s orderly activity to a screeching halt. The wardens attributed some of her crimes to chem-punk gangs from the undercity. Others getting credit for her manic schemes did not sit well with Jinx, and so she made sure to make her presence known at every future crime scene.

Jinx continues to cause mayhem around Piltover and Zaun wherever and whenever she can with seemingly no regard for the property damage or potential victims she would create, only occasionally being thwarted by enforcer Vi or Caitlyn. Jinx began to be idolized by a group of Zaunitas who adored how she caused chaos and destruction, although she ignored them.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Jinx was a slender, exceptionally pale young woman who carried herself with a hyperactive, twitching physical energy and a permanent, wide-eyed maniacal grin that instantly unsettled her adversaries. Strongly embracing a wildly flamboyant, punk-rock-inspired Zaunite street style that completely rejected traditional battle armor plates, protective padding, or structured military uniforms, her custom game wardrobe was meticulously designed for optimal aerodynamic speed and chaotic battlefield mobility. She dressed in a minimalist, form-fitting pink crop top halter leather vest that left her midriff and torso fully exposed, displaying a prominent, sprawling pattern of stylized, neon-blue cloud tattoos etched permanently across her right arm, chest, and shoulder blade. She wore asymmetrical, vertically striped purple-and-pink short-shorts secured by a chaotic, overlapping network of dark leather utility belts and heavy, metal bullet bandoliers wrapped tightly across her waist and thighs to house her extensive ammunition reserves. She wore mismatched, buckled leather combat boots on her feet and left her long, vibrant blue hair styled into two colossally long, knee-length braids bound by heavy metallic rings, presenting a bright, wildly ostentatious, and terrifying silhouette that trailed dynamically behind her as she dashed through the battlefield.

Originally, it was said that she had been a sweet young child.

Jinx can be described as a highly volatile entity who exhibits a range of psychological complexities characterized by Borderline Personality Disorder and Antisocial Personality Disorder. Her emotional agility is nothing short of bewildering, with mood swings of drastic proportions. A memorable past of relentless trauma has left her with a sense of inhospitality and disregard that fuels a powerful outburst of anger and resentment toward the cosmos, which in turn leads her to recklessly display impetuous tendencies.

She lived to wreak havoc without care for the consequences. Her motivation for her actions were nothing more than bring about pure chaos.

Jinx was said to despise boredom and gleefully brings her own chaotic brand of pandemonium wherever she went in the world.

Among Zaunites, opinion was divided on whether she was a hero striking at the arrogant Pilties, or a dangerous lunatic for escalating existing tensions between their two cities.

Jinx seemingly shows no signs of knowing Ekko, despite him stating that he knew Jinx and had a crush on her when they were kids.

Powers and abilities

Jinx was an ordinary human and thus had no superhuman powers or enhancements. As such, she had all the basic traits of a human being, relying entirely on her cunning, agility, and destructive ingenuity in combat. As many of Zaunite youth, Jinx has dabbled in shimmer, which changed her physical appearance and mental deteriorated state.

Her genius-level intellect allowed her to design advanced weaponry far beyond the technology typically found in Zaun, including high-caliber firearms, remote explosives, and rocket systems powered by volatile chemtech. In battle, she utilized her agility and unpredictability to outmaneuver opponents, often overwhelming them with sheer chaos and firepower. Though physically unremarkable, her endurance, reflexes, and resourcefulness made her as deadly as any enhanced soldier. Her mind, however unstable, was her greatest weapon — a blend of brilliance and insanity that made her the embodiment of anarchic destruction.

Among her armaments included chemtech explosives, a shark-mouthed rocket launcher, and a repeater gun repeater gun. With an arsenal of deadly weapons, she unleashed the loudest blasts and brightest explosions to leave a trail of mayhem and panic in her wake. Jinx possessed an extraordinary level of kinetic agility, improvisational tactical engineering, and absolute mastery over a highly destructive, custom-built arsenal of heavy-duty firearms. Her primary offensive asset was her ability to swap seamlessly between her twin signature weapon.

While not having any formal education, Jinx learned how to create numerous contraptions and weapons with her own creativity and ingenuity. Among

  • Pow-Pow : a machine gun of her own design, this would be Jinx's primary weapon during her usual escapades around Piltover and Zaun.
  • Fishbones : a rocket cannon has a chemtech payload known as Super Mega Rockets Super Mega Rockets, which is enabled it to shoot great distances.
  • Zapper :
  • Chompers :
  • Mr. Sparkles :

Furthermore, her frantic body metrics granted her a unique passive adrenaline reaction known as "Get Excited!"; whenever she successfully demolished a structural defense or incapacitated a target, her baseline movement and attack velocity multiplied exponentially, enabling her to blitz across the battlefield with near-instantaneous reflex speed.

Growing up, Powder had a good relationship with Vi and her parents. However, when her parents died during a riot turned battle on the bridge between Piltover and Zaun, she and Vi were the only people left in their family. After the battle, Vander found the two siblings where he adopted them and raised them as his own, alongside Mylo and Claggor. A few years later, Vi, Powder, Claggor, and Mylo venture into Piltover after getting a tip from Ekko regarding a Piltover citizen whom he had followed after he shopped at Benzo's. After finding the apartment, the kids looted the place where Powder discovers a box full of blue crystals. However, Vi hears Jayce and Caitlyn's footsteps. This makes Vi signal everyone to leave. But in the rush, Powder drops one of the blue crystals, setting off an explosion that blows up half the building. This notifies the enforcers and sends the kids on a chase through Piltover. After the kids evade the enforcers, they return to Zaun with their stolen goods. They are stopped by a street gang led by Deckard, who demands they hand the bag over. Not willing to go down without a fight, Vi, Claggor, and Mylo take on the rival gang and leave the goods with Powder. Midway, Powder is chased by one of the gang members who notices the stolen supplies. She is cornered at the docks, where she tries to attack him with Mouser, though it sputters out and fails. Left with no other option, she throws the bag of goods away, where they land in the ocean as Powder manages to escape for good. Later, Mylo yells at Powder for losing the stolen goods and claims, "She jinxes every job," though Vi silences him. Back at The Last Drop, Vander reprimands the group for the trouble they caused in Piltover while Vi argues back, claiming that Piltover has plenty while they have nothing.
