Biography
Jackie Estacado was born October 29, 1981 somewhere in New York City, New York. His mother died shortly after giving birth to him and his sister Capris. He was enrolled at Saint Garards orphanage at the same time as Jenny Romano. Jackie developed a close relationship with Jenny and would look after her while they were on the streets together. Whenever anyone hurt or abused Jenny, even orphanage officials, Jackie would become violent towards her abusers and would not rest until he put them in the hospital.
He joined the Mafia at the very early age of 6, after being recruited by a mafia don named Frankie "Kill-the-children-too" Franchetti. He was picked up at the orphanage after Frankie was prompted by a mysterious stranger named Sonatine, who told Frankie that having Jackie around would bring him tremendous power. Jackie was exposed to the life of very negative and violent forces as he grew up. However, he was also installed with good morals and was taught the value of loyalty by people such as Butcher Joyce. Jackie came to the mafia life easily, losing his virginity to a female officer during interrogation at age 14 and making his first hit at 16. He grew up, or more accurately matured, very quickly, and soon enjoyed the life of sex and violence. His actions within the mob caused Franchetti to become the most powerful don in the city, fulfilling Sonatine's prophecy. All during this time, The Angelus kept watch of Jackie with a mystical mirror within the top of The Empire State Building.
Jackie Estacado was an elite, cold-blooded hitman for the New York mafia who operated under the direct command of his uncle, Frankie Franchetti. On the eve of his 21st birthday, Jackie was targeted for elimination by a rival mob boss named Don Sonetti, who ordered a hit on him at a local restaurant. After surviving the ambush, Jackie executed Sonetti's trigger-man in an alleyway, unknowingly drawing the attention of an ancient, supernatural entity that had been waiting for him to reach adulthood. Later that night, while driving through the city with two women, he was ambushed again by Sonetti's men, who used a rocket launcher to blow his vehicle off the road. As Sonetti's enforcers moved in to finish him off, the clock struck midnight, marking the exact start of his 21st birthday. The life-threatening stress and the arrival of the date triggered the awakening of a primordial force known as the Darkness within his bloodline. This cosmic power instantly manifested around him, violently slaughtering the mob hitmen and leaving Jackie to realize his destiny as the new host of the dark entity. In appearance, Jackie Estacado was a young human male of Italian descent who possessed a lean, fit, and highly athletic build. He had long, dark hair that fell past his ears and hung loosely around his face, and his features were characterized by dark eyes and a confident, brooding expression. In his everyday criminal routine, he wore a stylish civilian outfit consisting of a dark, long-sleeved button-up shirt and dark trousers. Upon the stroke of midnight on his birthday, his physical form underwent a dramatic transformation as the supernatural energy of the Darkness erupted from his body. This cosmic force materialized as an organic, living armor that fully enveloped his torso and limbs in a dark, metallic substance. The armor featured sharp, protruding pauldrons on his shoulders and segmented plating, presenting a menacing, armored silhouette that lacked any traditional superhero insignia or colorful markings. He was also very prideful, sociopathic, sadistic, and insecure; willing to kill people simply for insulting him or making comments that revealed his true nature to him. Overall, Jackie Estacado is thought to be a murderous bastard to the eyes of his enemies, but the most loyal, caring, and defending man to the ones that earn his full trust. If it is one thing Jackie does not tolerate, it is his loved ones being harmed.
Jackie did not drink alcohol where he instead preferred a glass of hot milk.
Jackie Estacado was the son of Danny Estacado and an unnamed prostitute.

One of his ancestors was Miguel Estacado who lived 5 centuries ago where he had a dream of ruling the world. He was responsible for founding the Brotherhood of Darkness from among his followers that were made to enact this plan where they would rule the world as gods. (The Darkness v1 #2)

Jackie is a formidable hand-to-hand fighter, able to match even well trained assassins, like Tora No Shi.
Jackie Estacado possessed a range of physical capabilities and supernatural traits derived from his training as a hitman and his awakening as the host of the Darkness. He exhibited immense proficiency with firearms, demonstrating the tactical skill and cold composure required to dual-wield pistols and eliminate rival mobsters in close-quarters shootouts. Upon reaching his 21st birthday, he unlocked the absolute power of darkness manipulation, which automatically reacted to mortal danger to protect his life. This hereditary force could generate a highly durable, mystical armor around his body that was capable of deflecting bullets and physical attacks. Additionally, he could manifest dark matter into autonomous, demonic entities and sharp, predatory constructs that emerged directly from the shadows to violently tear apart his enemies. Though born a normal human, Jackie Estacado was part of an ancient bloodline where a long time ago one of his ancestors became the first mortal to wield the Darkness. This was a power that had been on Earth forever that required a human wielder to use it. The Darkness was said to had be an entity of chaos and wild abandon that had the power of creation where it take any shape or form any entity from shadows. (The Darkness v1 #2)
Jackie came to possess the limitless power of the Darkness which was a cursed elemental force of Chaos and Creation that allows him access to an otherworldly dimension and control over the veritable legion of Darklings who dwell there. He can stand against and even overpower other supernatural beings. He can destroy tanks and attack helicopters, slaughter vampires and werewolves, and easily butcher ordinary humans. Even the most powerful beings, such as Superman or the Witchblade, must check their strength before confronting Jackie.
Jackie can manipulate his armor to change its shape at will. He can fashion blades, protective spikes, hammerfists, and chains. Jackie can also use his armor to change his appearance, including his voices and mannerisms. Jackie was able to change into an old woman.
When he was 21 years old, he came to inherit the supernatural power of the Darkness. (The Darkness v1 #1)
