Inferno is a male animated character who features in [[Transformers: Beast Wars].

Biography

Inferno was a Predacon (Destron) warrior and chief lackey of Megatron. He was originally intended by Tarantulas to have a spider beast mode, but to his disappointment, the stasis pod had already selected an ant for a beast mode. Quite insane, Inferno's mind worked like an ant, and he thought that Megatron was his queen.

Inferno’s first mission as a Predacon involved attacking the Maximal base under Megatron’s command. With his flamethrower active, Inferno charged through defenses, smashing through obstacles while laughing maniacally. He clashed with Rattrap and Dinobot, chasing them through the jungle and using bursts of flame to force them into retreat. Though heavily damaged during the fight, Inferno remained unfazed, demonstrating fanatical loyalty to Megatron by proclaiming him his 'colony’s queen'. Megatron ordered him to withdraw after sustaining injuries, and Inferno obeyed without hesitation.

Inferno never became a Transmetal, but he did eventually become Megatron's "sub-commander." As time went on, however, Inferno was used more and more often as cannon fodder or a distraction.

Despite his loyalty, Inferno was carelessly destroyed by Megatron when he used the Nemesis to attack the ancestors of humanity. Inferno's weapon was able to work as a flamethrower, or fire energy blasts or rockets.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Inferno was a large red and black Transformer modeled after a giant fire ant. His beast mode featured segmented armor plates, six ant legs, and prominent mandibles. His robot mode retained insectoid features, with claw-like hands, a large mandible-shaped helmet, and insect legs folded along his body. His primary weapon was a powerful flamethrower built into his arm, and he possessed rocket thrusters on his back that allowed for limited flight and explosive charges.

In personality, Inferno was depicted as fanatically loyal, aggressive, and consumed by his beast programming. His worldview was defined by the instincts of a fire ant, treating every battle as the defense of a hive and interpreting the Maximals as invaders. He often laughed during combat and showed a sadistic joy in burning or destroying his enemies.

He identified Megatron as the 'queen' of his colony and served him with complete devotion, carrying out orders with zeal.

Powers and abilities

In abilities, Inferno was a Predacon with enhanced durability, strength, and weaponry. His physiology granted him resilience against heavy damage, often allowing him to continue fighting after sustaining blows that would incapacitate others. His jet thrusters gave him aerial mobility and could be used as offensive weapons in ramming attacks. His flamethrower allowed him to project streams of fire capable of igniting terrain and forcing Maximals out of cover. As a Transformer, his ability to shift between robot mode and fire ant mode provided versatility in combat.
