Hoppy

Hoppy was a big fan of comic book super-hero Captain Marvel, a fictional character in Hoppy's world. One day he decided to emulate his hero and spoke the magic word "Shazam!" Surprisingly, the magic word transformed Hoppy into Captain Marvel Bunny. (Fawcett's Funny Animals v1 #1)

Hoppy and Millie went for a walk when Woodie Woodchuck came running out of the woods, saying he’d seen a ghost. Millie wanted to see for herself and dragged the reluctant Hoppy into the woods. The Phantom of the Woods jumped out at them and ran them off. In town the Beaver Boys told their own story of encountering the Phantom, so Hoppy changed into Marvel bunny to investigate the woods again. The Phantom tried to scare him, but Hoppy knew the Phantom was the Beaver Boys and pulled off the sheet that served as their disguise. They admitted they’d pulled a prank for fun, and hoppy wanted them to prove to Millie and Woodie that there was no such thing as ghosts. He told the Boys to wait in the woods, and sent Millie and Woodie in after them so the Boys could admit to their tomfoolery. Hoppy visited a soda shop, and Woodie came running in, saying Millie had been abducted. The Beaver boys were in the soda shop, having gotten bored of waiting, and Hoppy panicked. He flew into the woods and saw a tree’s door slam shut. Hoppy burst through and found a robber’s hideout. They’d seen the Beaver boy’s prank and decided to use the Phantom gimmick to keep people out of the woods. Hoppy made short work of them and saved Millie. (Hoppy the Marvel Bunny v1 #6)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events. In this world, Hoppy was a rabbit that was owned by a pet shop in Philadelphia. The owners got an order from Dr. Sivana who wanted a test subject for his experiments with Hoppy being planned to be given away. At the time, Mary and Freddy Freeman overheard the conversation with the former having regularly visited the shop and having become attached to the rabbit. Freddy decided to help Mary by triggering the fire alarm sending the various animals loose causing the owners having to deal with that incident. This allowed the rabbit to be taken by Mary who named it Hoppy that became the Vasquez’s family pet. After gaining powers, sometimes the magic of the living lightning of Shazam would touch Hoppy who gained superpowers for brief periods. (Shazam! v3 #1)

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Hoppy the Marvel Bunny was a bipedal mammalian creature that possessed the biological features of an anthropomorphic rabbit integrated with a classic superhero uniform. He possessed a pink fur coat covering the entirety of his body, with the explicit exception of his inner ears and muzzle, which exhibited a lighter pink coloration. The head featured two large, dark rounded eyes, long vertical rabbit ears, and a small black nose with short whiskers. In his transformed state, their build was heavily muscled and athletic compared to his base form. For his uniform, Hoppy wore a bright red skin-tight bodysuit featuring a large, yellow lightning bolt emblem emblazoned horizontally across the chest. The uniform was completed with a white sash tied around the waist, yellow wristbands on each forearm, and a small, white cape attached to the shoulders that featured gold trim along the borders. (Fawcett's Funny Animals v1 #1)

Powers and abilities

Hoppy the Marvel Bunny was born a member of an anthropomorphic animal race where he was a member of the lagomorph rabbit species. On a basic feats level, his standard form possessed ordinary animal limitations until he invoked a magical vocal enchantment. Upon speaking the word "Shazam!", he was granted the collective abilities of six distinct mythological entities tailored to his dimension: the wisdom of Salamander, the strength of Hogocles, the stamina of Antlers, the power of Zeppelin, the courage of Aardvark, and the speed of Marigold. This combination granted the Hoppy immense physical invulnerability to blunt force, the capacity for high-speed atmospheric flight, and superhuman muscular power enabling him to lift heavy objects and overpower multiple physical opponents simultaneously.
