History

Valiant Comics

The Harbinger Resistance were an organization of Harbingers that were brought together by Faith Herbert where they were to combat the machinations of the Harbinger Foundation's founder Toyo Harada.

Peter Stanchek and Kris Hathaway fled from a monitoring helicopter and encountered three Harbinger operatives named Eel, Lump, and Weasel. During the confrontation, Stanchek utilized telekinesis to repel Weasel and telepathy to incapacitate Lump, eventually destroying a vehicle to neutralize the attackers. Following the skirmish, Stanchek and Hathaway occupied a motel room and reviewed local advertisements to identify potential recruits. They entered a post office to seize correspondence addressed to the Harbinger Foundation. Stanchek and Hathaway visited the residence of Faith Herbert and interacted with her before her latent ability of flight manifested. The three individuals relocated to a secondary motel and later a junkyard to evade local law enforcement. Stanchek traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to confront employees at a Harbinger Foundation facility and encountered Charlene DuPre. He engaged in a physical altercation with Todd Bevins, using his psychic abilities to repel the administrator. The group expanded as Stanchek utilized his powers to activate the latent abilities of Herbert and DuPre, consolidating them into a collective force resistant to the Foundation’s influence. (Harbinger v1 #1) Following their activation, the members of the Harbinger Resistance traveled to a motel to regroup and evade tracking. Peter Stanchek engaged in a telepathic scan of his surroundings and interacted with Kris Hathaway to discuss their next steps. During this period, an assassin named Rachel, sent by the Harbinger Foundation, entered Stanchek's room with the intent to terminate him. When she attempted to fire her weapon, Stanchek's subconscious triggered a massive psionic energy surge that resulted in the complete destruction of the building and the deaths of thirty-two individuals, including Rachel. Stanchek subsequently located Hathaway, who was being pursued by the Harbinger Foundation operatives Eel and Weasel. He utilized his telekinetic abilities to repel the attackers and secure her safety. The pair, along with their recruited allies Zephyr and Flamingo, fled the scene to avoid further confrontation with local authorities and Foundation recovery teams. The group's movement was dictated by the necessity of remaining mobile and anonymous while Stanchek continued to develop his psionic capacity. (Harbinger v1 #2)

At some point after the second Harbinger War, the team went missing, with its members believed dead. Some believed Zephyr was still alive, and Pete Stanchek resurfaced in Chicago's Psiot City, missing his memory, but it's unknown what happened to the rest of the team.
