Biography
Greg Willis
Whilst on a yacht with his family, a mini-black hole seemingly formed with them attempting to navigate the harsh weather. During this time, Greg was dragged into the miniature black hole but then emerged back in the water unconscious. This event called to be known as the Accident to him and it imparted on him the ability to control gravity. (Gravity v1 #5)
Moving to New York City to pursue a secondary education at New York University, he adopted the superhero persona of Gravity, fashioned a specialized blue and white costume, and deployed into the metropolitan streets to test his newfound powers against real threats. His operational confidence was immediately and violently challenged during his very first field outing when he attempted to intercept a massive, destructive rampage executed by the giant, super-strong brute known as Blackout. Lacking tactical field experience and struggling to manage his gravitational energy reserves under intense pressure, Gravity was completely overwhelmed by the villain's brute force and suffered a brutal physical defeat, barely escaping with his life while absorbing a harsh, grounding lesson on the lethal dangers of the urban superhero ecosystem. Willis encountered the iconic street-level vigilante Spider-Man while patrolling the rooftops of Manhattan, receiving a valuable validation of his heroic potential along with a stern warning regarding the lethal hazards of navigating the city's criminal underbelly. Seeking to apply these professional insights to his ongoing activities, he investigated a highly suspicious local business front known as the Greenwich Village Social Club, only to stumble directly into an active, high-stakes tactical ambush orchestrated by the villainous mastermind Black Death. Greg Willis was immediately confronted by a brainwashed and mentally enslaved Blackout, who launched a ruthless physical assault under the absolute strategic command of the mastermind. Forced into a violent rematch within the tight confines of the facility, Gravity meticulously adapted his gravitational manipulation to counter his opponent's crushing brute force, utilizing his field manipulation to systematically pin down the giant enforcer and break the villain's tactical momentum. Although he successfully neutralized the physical threat and forced Black Death to abandon the immediate perimeter in a frantic retreat, the intense operational engagement caused Gravity to completely miss a critical academic appointment with Lauren Singh, severely fracturing his civilian relationships while cementing his status as a primary target for the city's escalating criminal conspiracies. The unique cosmic radiation permanently restructured his molecular biology, granting him advanced manipulation over gravitational forces and allowing him to float, fly, and alter the weight of surrounding physical matter. (Gravity v1 #1)
This gave him a wide range of abilities such as increasing the strength of his punches to superhuman levels allowing him to send super-powered foes flying backwards through multiple walls. Greg was able to use his powers to also levitate and give him the ability to fly through the air. (Gravity v1 #1)
