Biography

Eis Shenron (Japanese: 三サン星シン龍, Hepburn: Sanshinron) was a male Shadow Dragons (邪じゃ悪あく龍りゅう Jaaku Ryū, lit. "Evil Dragons") that were a race of evil dragonic beings created from the Dragon Balls. Similar to the rest of his kin, he was born from the wishes asked of the eternal dragon Shenron. In his case, he was born from the wish to erase everyone's memories of Majin Buu's rampage except for the Dragon Team and their allies with him being the twin brother of Nuova Shenron. Eis Shenron was the first Shadow Dragon released from Black Smoke Shenron. He made himself known by freezing an entire building, short-circuiting Giru, and beating up a weakened Pan while Goku and Nuova Shenron battled elsewhere. Shedding his outer shell of ice, Eis proceeded to interrupt the match between his brother and the lone Super Saiyan 4. Eis blithely ignores both Goku's confusion regarding Shadow Dragons having siblings and Nuova's demands for Eis to leave him be, instead opting to reveal that he has stolen the Dragon Balls from Pan. Goku promptly spots the injured girl staggering through the streets below and rushed to her side. Pan apologizes for losing the collected Dragon Balls before losing consciousness. Enraged by this, Goku chooses to square off against Eis Shenron despite having yet to defeat Nuova Shenron.

Eis Shenron first appeared during the climax of the Shadow Dragon saga, emerging as the embodiment of the negative energy of the Three-Star Dragon Ball. When Goku confronted him, Eis immediately displayed a calculating and deceptive demeanor, feigning politeness while demanding a fair fight. However, he used his powers to manipulate the battlefield, summoning thick sheets of ice to immobilize Goku and control the flow of combat. He launched shards of ice as projectiles, forcing Goku to stay defensive while testing the Saiyan’s strength. Eis’s attacks demonstrated precision, and he repeatedly taunted Goku, establishing himself as both arrogant and tactical in battle. As the battle intensified, Eis Shenron escalated his cruelty. He unleashed freezing blasts capable of immobilizing Goku’s limbs, encasing portions of the battlefield in solid ice to limit mobility. At one point, he blinded Goku by freezing over his eyes, leaving the Saiyan at a severe disadvantage. Eis struck ruthlessly, landing multiple blows while mocking his opponent’s vulnerability, demonstrating his willingness to exploit dirty tactics rather than rely on strength alone. His cruelty stood out in contrast to his twin brother Nuova Shenron, who valued honor. Eis reveled in his brother’s discomfort when Nuova objected to his dishonorable methods, further exposing his sadistic personality. In his final moments, Eis Shenron overplayed his treachery. He attempted to manipulate the situation by using Goku’s blindness to his advantage, going for finishing strikes while Goku struggled to counter. However, Goku adapted, using his other senses to track Eis’s movements despite his handicap. When Nuova turned against Eis for his dishonorable behavior, the conflict between the brothers created an opening for Goku to end the fight. Eis was struck down, his body destroyed, and the Three-Star Dragon Ball purified in the aftermath of his defeat. His final act was one of arrogance and anger, cursing both Goku and Nuova as he was obliterated.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Eis Shenron was a tall humanoid dragon with a sleek, pale-blue body that contrasted with his brother Nuova’s fiery orange. His design featured smooth, streamlined armor-like skin, pointed ears, and red eyes that glowed with malice. The most distinctive trait of his form was the three-star emblem embedded in his chest, signifying his connection to the Three-Star Dragon Ball.

Eis Shenron’s personality was defined by arrogance, vanity, and cruelty. He viewed himself as superior to both mortals and his fellow dragons, taking pride in his precision and refinement in combat. However, his confidence masked a sadistic streak, as he delighted in mocking and torturing his enemies rather than simply defeating them. Unlike Nuova, who fought with a warrior’s code, Eis relied on treachery and manipulation, using trickery to exploit his opponents’ weaknesses. His relationship with his siblings, particularly Nuova, was marked by jealousy and spite, as he considered his brother’s sense of honor a weakness that he could not comprehend.

As such, he was noted for being manipulative, arrogant, and sadistic. Unlike Nuova, who fought with a sense of honor, Eis embraced deceit and cruelty, preferring to gain the upper hand through treachery. He delighted in exploiting weaknesses, demonstrated by his willingness to blind Goku rather than face him in a fair fight. Eis displayed jealousy and resentment toward Nuova, mocking his brother’s sense of morality and reveling in his superiority through underhanded methods. His defining traits were dishonor and malice, marking him as one of the most untrustworthy Shadow Dragons.

Eis initially presented himself as calm and composed, contrasting the violent temper of his brother, Nuova Shenron. He fought Goku in a frozen wasteland, where he used the surrounding ice to his advantage, creating mirror-like structures to disorient his enemy and conceal his movements. His control over ice extended beyond simple freezing attacks—he could manipulate crystalline surfaces to create illusions and entrap opponents, effectively turning the battlefield into a weapon. Despite his initial politeness, Eis’s demeanor quickly revealed underlying cruelty, as he took pleasure in toying with Goku both physically and psychologically throughout their encounter. As the battle intensified, Eis demonstrated the full extent of his powers by freezing Goku solid and attacking while his opponent was immobilized. When Goku escaped and began to gain the upper hand, Eis resorted to deception, feigning surrender before striking his opponent with a blinding attack that rendered Goku temporarily sightless. This act exposed his true nature—unlike his honorable brother Nuova, Eis fought without integrity, prioritizing victory over fairness. However, his treachery ultimately led to his downfall. Goku, despite his blindness, relied on his instincts and managed to counterattack, defeating Eis with a devastating blow. Eis’s final act was one of defiance, attempting to expose Nuova’s apparent betrayal before being destroyed by Goku.

Eis was very confident in his abilities, but when faced with any threat too big for his hands, he will resort to very dirty and desperate tactics to win his fights, such as using others as a shield. He does not see anything wrong with his fighting style, claiming that there are no rules to combat beyond doing whatever was necessary to win. He was also somewhat quite cowardly, begging for Goku to not kill him when the Saiyan had the Shadow Dragon in check.

Powers and abilities

Eis Shenron was one of the Shadow Dragons (邪じゃ悪あく龍りゅう Jaaku Ryū, lit. "Evil Dragons") that were dragonic beings born from the negative energy made from wishes to the Dragon Balls. Eis Shenron was the physical manifestation of the Three-Star Dragon Ball corrupted by negative energy. He was a strong fighter who musters the element of ice to eliminate his enemies and was arguably among the mightiest Shadow Dragons. As such, his abilities were entirely ice-based, granting him control over sub-zero temperatures and frozen constructs.

Shenron’s powers revolved around absolute control over ice and temperature manipulation. He could freeze opponents instantly, generate blizzards, and create weapons or barriers from solid ice with pinpoint accuracy. His attacks included the Ice Beam, capable of encasing enemies in unbreakable frost, and the Ice Slash, a concentrated burst of cutting cold energy. Eis could also manipulate light refraction through ice to create illusions, allowing him to strike unseen or appear in multiple locations simultaneously. Despite his considerable power, his reliance on deception and dishonor ultimately rendered him inferior to opponents with greater strength and integrity.

He could freeze opponents instantly, trap them in thick ice, blind them by sealing over their eyes, and create ice shards sharp enough to cut through stone and energy defenses. His physical powers included enhanced durability, strength, and speed, typical of the Shadow Dragons, but his true advantage lay in his precise manipulation of ice as both a weapon and battlefield control. Despite not being as powerful as Syn Shenron, he does have enough power to inflict damage on Goku in his Super Saiyan 4 state, though he only did so when the Saiyan was unable to defend himself, such as when he was protecting his granddaughter Pan or when parts of his body were frozen. He is third in strength among the seven dragons and will use anything or anyone within reach to achieve victory when overwhelmed. When he blinded Super Saiyan 4 Goku, it cut Goku's power in half, leading Eis to believe he would win, however even with only half power Goku was still able to destroy him.
