History

The Crystal Skull while an artifact was actually part of alien biology that belonged to an ancient race that visited the Earth thousands of years ago. This species possessed a crystalline skeleton and the artifact was actually their own skulls. They visited the planet and aided the inhabitants in creating Akator, a mythical city rumoured to contain gold and was known as El Dorado to others of the world. Once completed, thirteen members of this race were placed in thrones deep within the central pyramid where their crystalline skeletons remained.

These bodies were disturbed by early Spanish explorers bent on acquiring gold. One Spainiard, Francisco de Orellana, took one of the crystal skulls from the city which became buried with him in Chauchilla Cemetary in Peru after he was killed. From there sparked the myth that, whoever returned to the crystal skull would gain its power as well as its secrets. The Soviet Union discovered the nature of the Crystal Skull and sought to acquire its power to use it as a psychic weapon against the United States. In order to solve the riddles and return the skull to its origin, they sought to use Indiana Jones for this task.

The skull was finally returned to its resting place where Irina Spalko attempted to place it on the skeleton where it magnetically reattachd by itself. The collective crystaline forms then spoke through Professor Oxley that stared into the skull for too long and stated that they thanked them for returning it. Now, they wished to give them a gift. Spalko wanted knowledge and understanding. Once this was stated, a process began in the pyramid which activated a saucer shaped space ship beneath the pyramid as well as activated a portal to another dimension. The thirteen crystallines then united and revealed a flesh and blood alien which burned Spalko with their knowledge.

Once this was done, Akator was destroyed as well as its surroundings as the alien ship disappeared into another dimension bringing about a thorough job in removing any signs of their existence.

Background

The Crystals were elongated crystalline skulls that were inhuman in shape and constructed beyond Human means. They were perfect in construction with no carving that showed that they were artificial in origin. Another noted characteristic beyond their appearance was their near magnetic nature which attracted metallic objects and even gold. Such items would cluster around or even attach to the surface of the crystal skull.

A more dangerous characteristic of the skulls was they were somewhat telepathic in nature. To certain individuals, they communicated on a telepathic level to the recepient. However, constant exposure to the eyes had the capacity to driving a person insane and withdrawn within themselves. Those exposed to the skull had a greater understanding of the ancient Human languages of the Amazon. Furthermore, the skull communicated its wishes to those that gazed into it. Those that stared for longer became truly aware of the crystals origins and secrets. During one constant use of the skull, the recepient was driven to a near unconscious state until the eyes were covered by a cloth.

The power of the skull also affected other forms of life but whether this was due to its telepathic nature or near magnetic ways was unknown. A swarm of fireants avoided the region near the crystal skull thus allowing those individuals in possession of the skull reletive protection from the insects.

Aliens

The entities were tall and Humanoid in shape with a similar experience to the Roswell aliens with a grayish skin as well as a thin form. Their skeleton was crystalline in form and near magnetic as it attracted various items to its form. They were telepathic as well and gestalt mind even if their bodies were separated. They had made various trips to the planet with one expedition crashing in Roswell, New Mexico.

The creatures were noted to be collectors or archeaologists as they brought Human items from various time periods to their city where it was stored. They were also extradimensional in origin; not coming from space but the region between dimensions.
