Biography
Xiomara was the daughter of the interstellar bounty hunter known as Lobo. (Teen Titans v6 #25)
She was given a living chain as she was sent through space and crash landed on Earth around 15 years ago. The infant was discovered by a pair of hippies named David Rojas and Lisa Rojas attending the Burning Man. They decided to adopt the child who they named Xiomara and raised her as a daughter. She was cared for by her adoptive parents though had to always move from place to place as they struggled with money as they could never hold a job. As such, they always were on the move and had to evade people wanting payment or struggled with getting food. Despite that, she cared for her parents and as she grew older she began to question her appearance. The Rojas's told her that she was the daughter of superheroes with the young Xiomara believing that she was like Superman. This was until one day she witnessed a battle between Lobo and Superman where she noted her similar appearance to the Czarnian. This led her to believe that Lobo was her father and she came to resent her adoptive parents for lying to her by making her believe her birth parents were heroes. This caused her to storm out as she left home where she was picked on for her appearance and for being an alien leading to her beating her attackers. Xiomara then returned to the Rojas caravan to warn them that they needed to leave but she found it on fire with her adoptive parents dead along with her iron chain being stolen. This led to her having to go on the run by herself with her unaware on who killed the Rojas’s as she sought out her chain Obelus. (Teen Titans v6 #25)
Years later, Crush resurfaced in the public eye after intervening in a street fight, her brutal methods catching the attention of Damian Wayne, the current Robin. Recognizing her raw potential, Damian recruited her into his reformed Teen Titans team—a younger, more militant generation of heroes operating outside traditional Justice League oversight. Initially resistant to authority, Crush clashed frequently with her teammates, particularly Red Arrow and Djinn, yet gradually formed an uneasy camaraderie built on shared experiences of trauma and alienation. Her ferocity and blunt honesty made her both a liability and an asset to the group, especially during missions that demanded brute force or intimidation. The team attempted to intercept a ritual being performed by the villainous Brother Blood. The team stormed into his hideout and proceeded to plow through his defenses. During the attack, Crush took out several goons by throwing fellow teammate Roundhouse at them like a bowling ball. Crush and Djinn followed Blood into a tunnel system, where the Titans cornered and defeated him. The group left the hideout with Blood and his men, and proceeded to blow up their lair. (Teen Titans v6 #20) Crush and the team later performed a raid on a warehouse owned by the villain Gizmo, who was using a toy store as a front to sell illegal weaponry to criminals. The team dealt with Gizmo with relative ease, however, they soon realized that Gizmo had a nuclear device attached to him and that if anyone attempted to remove it or deactivate it the bomb would explode. Acting quickly, Crush, Djinn, and Roundhouse evacuated the children from the toy shop. Eventually, Djinn was able to remove the bomb from Gizmo, but this gave Kid Flash too little time to carry it out of a populated area. As a last resort, Roundhouse instructed Crush to throw him and the bomb into the upper atmosphere, where the bomb could detonate freely. Crush agreed to his request and the bomb was successfully detonated away from civilians, seemingly killing Roundhouse in the process. (Teen Titans v6 #21)
With the aid of Robin, she came to learn the location of Obelus and sought to recover it. She took with her Djinn as they confronted the thief who was named Ezikiel. He was an old associate of her parents as he was a drug dealer that regularly supplied them drugs. Ezikiel resented the pair but kept on supplying them until they stole a lot of product from him and went on the run. This brought him into trouble with his associates leading to him hunting for the Rojas's where he eventually found them and when Xiomara was not there he murdered them. (Teen Titans v6 #25)
Mercy Hall then came under attack from Lobo who wanted to meet his 'daughter' after being informed of her existence by the mysterious Other. This led to a battle against the Teen Titans where he effortlessly defeated the young heroes who struggled to fight the interstellar bounty hunter. (Teen Titans v6 #31)
Using Lex Luthor's technology, Lobo managed to take control over his daughter and had her turn against the Teen Titans. After they were defeated, Lobo took all of them to meet with the Other in order to settle on his payment. (Teen Titans v6 #36)
Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Crush was a tall, muscular young woman of mixed human and Czarnian descent, characterized by gray-toned skin, glowing red eyes, and black hair often styled in an undercut. Her look drew clear parallels to her father’s infamous aesthetic—leather jackets, heavy boots, and spiked accessories—but with a punk-inspired twist that emphasized her rebellious nature. Tattoos, piercings, and combat-worn attire completed her image as both street fighter and outsider. (Teen Titans v6 #25)
When she was young, she always knew she was different from other people on Earth as she remembered the stares she got from humans. However, when she was with her adoptive parents, they came to shelter her from being persecuted. This changed when she decided to leave the Rojas’s which was when people began to discriminate and even attack her. (Teen Titans v6 #25)
Crush’s personality was dominated by anger, sarcasm, and fierce independence. Distrustful of authority and emotionally guarded, she used aggression as both weapon and defense mechanism, masking deep-seated insecurities about abandonment and belonging. Despite her abrasive manner, she demonstrated loyalty to those who earned her respect, particularly her fellow Teen Titans, whom she regarded as a dysfunctional family. Her speech was often laced with sardonic humor, and she exhibited a strong sense of justice filtered through her own moral code—direct, uncompromising, and occasionally brutal. (Teen Titans v6 #20)
She had displayed herself as overconfident in her powers, which has caused her to lose fights. (Teen Titans v6 #22)
Crush can be quite malicious, such as when she displayed visible enjoyment when scaring children. (Teen Titans v6 #21) She has been shown herself to be rather uncaring for the people around her, when Roundhouse supposedly perished she hardly mourned at all and was judgmental of the amount of time Kid Flash spent mourning his lost friend. (Teen Titans v6 #22)
She came to care for her adoptive parents David Rojas and Lisa Rojas. Despite their financial situation, they always cared for her with her father calling Xiomara a princess. The Rojas's cared deeply for their adoptive daughter that they refused the offer of Ezikiel to sell her on the Dark Web which would have cleared all their debt. Their lives on the run had taught Xiomara on how to stay off the radar and out of sight. After their death, she began to see the world as not being a good place. Crush did not accept Lobo as her real father and instead saw the Rojas's as her true parents. (Teen Titans v6 #25)
Crush hated her biological father Lobo who had no qualms in attempting to kill her as he had murdered his other offspring. He even derogatively called her his 'daughter' though she did not consider him her father. (Teen Titans v6 #31)
She was noted for being attracted to Djinn and came to let her feelings be known by kissing her. During this time, she struggled at Djinn being close to Damian Wayne with this causing her to lash out. She was also very protective of her and acted aggressively to anyone that hurt her. (Teen Titans v6 #29)
Powers and abilities
It was noted that she was only half-Czarnian and thus not as powerful as her father. (Teen Titans v6 #31)
Crush possessed superhuman strength, durability, and regenerative capabilities inherited from her Czarnian physiology, placing her among the physically strongest members of her generation. She could lift massive weights, withstand powerful energy blasts, and recover from wounds that would kill a normal human. In combat, she favored raw brawling tactics augmented by her enhanced reflexes and endurance. While lacking her father’s full range of regenerative immortality, she demonstrated accelerated healing and resistance to toxins and disease. Her fighting style combined street-level brutality with alien resilience, making her a formidable opponent in both close-quarters combat and large-scale battles. (Teen Titans Special v1 #1)
Among her most treasured possessions was a living metal chain she called Obelus that came with her to Earth when she was a baby. The chain was shown to operate with a mind of its own and protected her from danger. It could sense danger around it and worked to protect Xiomara. The chain was deeply loved by Crush who considered it her best friend. (Teen Titans v6 #25)
