Biography
Tryco Slatterus was a male extraterrestrial being who was a member of the Elders of the Universe. (Marvel Two-In-One Annual v1 #7)
The Champion of the Universe arrived on Earth to challenge the planet’s strongest fighters to a series of sanctioned boxing matches, threatening to destroy the globe entirely if no suitable challenger could last three rounds against him. He forcefully selected several powerful metahumans, including the Thing, Thor, Hulk, Colossus, Sasquatch, Doc Samson, and Wonder Man, transporting them to a massive training facility located inside Madison Square Garden. Before the matches could begin, the Champion systematically disqualified several contenders; he banned Thor for refusing to fight without his mystical hammer, disqualified the Hulk because he considered the beast a mindless animal lacking tactical martial discipline, and eliminated Wonder Man after the hero accidentally tore the ring ropes during a warm-up session. In the opening bout, the Champion easily overpowered Sasquatch in under two minutes, leaving the beast unconscious before similarly dominating Colossus and breaking the mutant's armored steel arm in the second round. When Doc Samson stepped into the ring, the Champion knocked him out with a single, devastating physical punch in the opening seconds of the first round. The final match pitted the Champion against Benjamin Grimm, the Thing, who managed to survive the initial onslaught through sheer stubborn resilience despite sustaining severe fractures and blunt-force trauma across his entire rocky frame. Upon encountering the Surfer moving at standard interstellar velocities, the Champion easily outpaced his cosmic board, generating a massive, localized wake of kinetic force that disrupted the Surfer's flight path. He explicitly declared his supreme obsession with pure exploration and the freedom of motion, mocking the Surfer’s reliance on an external physical construct to navigate the stars. The Champion forcefully engaged the Surfer in close-quarters combat, utilizing his immense velocity to deliver a rapid, uninterrupted sequence of physical blunt-force strikes that completely bypassed the Surfer's sensory reactions. He came to the planet Skardon where he sought a challenger and defeated its greatest warriors in a boxing ring. Under the rules of its people, that meant that the Champion came to be the ruler of Skardon where he allowed it to fall into disrepair as he sought a worthy opponent. Adam Warlock sought out fighters from across the universe to fight the Champion in his ring without the use of any weapons or powers but each had been defeated due to him reclaiming the power of the Power Gem making him power incarnate. As a result of the fight, he was bound never to harm She-Hulk nor use the Infinity Gem of Power again. As a result, he was disgraced from his loss and sought revenge against her with the Champion looking for someone to use the Power Gem as an instrument against She-Hulk. (She-Hulk v1 #11) To achieve that end, he sought out the Watcher Zoma who himself had a grudge against She-Hulk for her actions against his cousin. He came to direct Tryco to Earth where he said that the person he sought was Titania. (She-Hulk v1 #10) Upon meeting the human supervillain, the Champion gave her the Power Gem and directed her in its use where she became adept in using its power. Once that was the case, she turned against the Champion and knocked him out so that he could not reclaim the stones power with her using it to get her revenge against She-Hulk. (She-Hulk v1 #11)

This made him one of the last survivors of the first intelligent races to evolve shortly after the Big Bang. On a basic feats level, this specialized primordial physiology granted him absolute immunity to organic aging, terrestrial diseases, starvation, and mortal physical exhaustion. He was an exceptional member of this immortal collective, having spent billions of years channeling the Power Primordial—residual energy left over from the creation of the universe—specifically to master every known form of physical combat, martial arts, and brawling across millions of worlds. He possessed near-infinite physical strength and limitless stamina, enabling him to shatter organic steel, effortlessly lift hundreds of tons, and deliver physical blunt-force strikes that completely ignored the advanced durability of Earth’s strongest heroes. The Champion held no biological vulnerabilities to conventional human weaponry, kinetic impacts, or extreme energy blasts, allowing him to endure direct physical combat without sustaining any meaningful damage to his dense muscular hide. Seeking a more rigorous challenge, he then pivoted to Earth and instituted the global Challenge of the Champion tournament, demanding that divided hero and villain factions form distinct four-person tag teams to produce an ultimate challenger under threat of complete planetary destruction. Operating as the hidden, absolute final antagonist of the conflict, the Champion monitored the tournament from a secure cosmic stage as five distinct earthly teams clashed across multiple environments. This forced the Champion onto the battlefield to personally test the planet's absolute limits. Engaging Earth's unified defenders in an intense, multi-phased physical struggle, the entity initially fought within a restricted primordial form, utilizing standard combat maneuvers to systematically build his internal pride gauge. Once the gauge achieved maximum capacity, the Champion executed precise technical strikes to trigger a volatile physical evolution into his awakened state, a transformation that granted him access to devastating directional unique skills and a massive surge in kinetic power. Despite this cataclysmic upgrade, the Champion was ultimately countered by the challengers and bested him in honorable combat. In response, the Champion cordially recognized the verified might of Earth's protectors, willingly abandoning his immediate conquest ambitions and retreating back into the cosmic void while leaving the planet entirely secure.
