Overview
Personality and attributes
In appearance, Ch’p stood no taller than a small child—roughly two feet in height—with the frame of a nimble rodent. His fur was sleek and golden-brown, covering a petite yet muscular torso and limbs. He possessed a bushy tail, rounded ears, and large, expressive dark eyes. He wore the uniform of the Green Lantern Corps—a fitted green and black suit emblazoned with the Corps emblem—and carried the Power Ring on his right paw. Though his stature was small, he projected energy constructs with uncharacteristic confidence, his posture and expression showing determination befitting a seasoned intergalactic protector. (Green Lantern v2 #148)
Ch’p was courageous beyond his size, demonstrating unwavering bravery when defending his homeworld of H’lven from Doctor Ub’x’s invasion. Despite the threat of death, he accepted induction into the Green Lantern Corps with quiet resolve, placing duty and justice above personal fear or doubt. His instincts as a protector were immediate and clear—he took command in rescue efforts and fought relentlessly to drive invaders from his planet. (Green Lantern Corps v1 #203)
Though small in stature, Ch’p displayed surprising confidence and self-respect. While interacting with larger Corps members like Hal Jordan and Kilowog, he maintained courteous camaraderie without deference, proving himself an equal in both ability and honor. He was respected as a peer, not patronized—his humor and warmth complemented his toughness, making him a welcome presence among his colleagues. (Green Lantern v2 #148)
Ch’p’s resilience extended beyond physical bravery—he showed deep emotional strength when coping with loss and identity erasure after Crisis on Infinite Earths. Discovering that history had been altered and loved ones no longer remembered him, he endured the pain and disappointment with dignity, quietly supporting fellow Lanterns through the turmoil—even as he mourned his own disconnected past. (Green Lantern Corps v1 #203)
