Biography

Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen was an outlaw and ancestor of Biff Tannen who was the terror of Hill Valley in 1885. He hated his nickname, "Mad Dog." Buford was eventually defeated and humiliated by a time-displaced Emmett Brown and Marty McFly.

Overview

Personality and attributes

In appearance, Buford Tannen was a tall, exceptionally broad, and heavily built Caucasian man who carried himself with a thuggish physical posture and possessed a weathered, dirt-caked complexion. Projecting the unkempt, menacing aesthetic of a hardened Wild West bushwhacker, his facial features were highlighted by a thick, un-styled brown beard, rotting teeth, and a permanent, wild-eyed glare that instantly cowed local townspeople. Completely rejecting clean high-society garments or refined fabrics, his practical frontier wardrobe consisted of a tattered, button-down dark shirt layered beneath a heavy, dust-stained brown leather vest and reinforced denim trousers tucked into spurs-mounted riding boots. He completely concealed his messy hair beneath a wide-brimmed cowboy hat, which he secretly used to mask an unauthorized plate of sheet-metal torso armor during his public festival raids. He complemented his rugged ensemble with a leather gun belt buckled tightly across his waist to house his Colt Peacemaker revolver, presenting a wildly primitive and deeply intimidating visual silhouette.

Powers and abilities

Buford Tannen possessed an extraordinary level of raw physical mass, close-quarters brawling leverage, and master-class efficiency with period firearms. His primary offensive asset on the battlefield was his near-instantaneous quick-draw velocity, which earned him a lethal reputation as the fastest gun in the West, capable of shooting targets in the back or neutralizing adversaries before they could fully unholster their weapons. He exhibited immense upper-body skeletal strength, enabling him to effortlessly horsewhip fully grown men, handle a lasso with pinpoint precision while riding at full speed, and lift targets off the ground with a single arm. While he completely lacked high-tech weaponry or formal military martial arts conditioning, his sheer brute force and willingness to engage in underhanded tactics served as a flawless natural buffer against conventional retaliation. This enabled him to comfortably override an opponent's defense metrics by using heavy whips, throwing knives, or launching a relentless barrage of heavy-fisted blunt strikes to shatter his targets.

Notes
