Origin

The Blood Syndicate

This event came to be referred to as the Big Bang. The police got word of the coming attack and planned to gas the lot of them with tear gas laced with a radioactive marker and take them all into custody. Their plan was to track down any gang member who got away using the radioactive marker. Unknown to them, or even to the police involved, the tear gas used to disperse them was laced with a mutative agent called "quantum juice". Many gang members and police officers died, while others transformed according to their state of mind or what they were close to when the gas hit them. One woman landed in water; her body became water and she developed the ability to control other water as well. She named herself Aquamaria. Another woman stumbled into a brick wall, merged with it and became solid brick. Other entities were affected in other ways. A police officer gained the power to emit golden energy blasts and joined the Shadow Cabinet as Oro. Dogg, a normal dog who was the pet of the Force Syndicate, developed human level cognitive abilities and the ability to speak.

The Blood Syndicate survivors from the Big Bang event on Paris Island congregated at their base of operations to establish their hierarchy and territory. Tech-9 assumed leadership over the group, which consisted of former members from the Force Syndicate and the Paris Island Bloods. During their initial activities, the members demonstrated their new superhuman abilities while navigating the aftermath of the police crackdown that had mutated them. They engaged in internal conflicts to test one another’s power and resolve, specifically highlighting the invulnerability of Wise Son and the pyrokinetic strength of Holocaust. The group confronted local threats to their neighborhood and asserted their control over the area through physical force. They also dealt with the physical and psychological transformations caused by the experimental gas, such as Marta’s permanent conversion into a brick-like entity and the unstable molecular states of Fade and Flashback. Their collective actions focused on survival and the consolidation of their remaining gang members into a singular, super-powered organization. (Blood Syndicate v1 #1) Members of the Blood Syndicate navigated the internal and external consequences of their recent unification on Paris Island. Holocaust contested Tech-9 for leadership of the group, leading to a physical confrontation that established the volatile hierarchy of the gang. The group encountered a stray dog, later known as Dogg, who had mutated following the Big Bang and gained the ability of human speech; the animal was subsequently integrated into the team. During their activities, the members utilized their superhuman abilities to seize assets and territory, including a raid on a fortified drug operation to secure funding for their collective needs. The individual members dealt with the physical and psychological toll of their powers, such as Flashback’s recurring use of her time-manipulation abilities to mitigate immediate threats and Brickhouse’s ongoing struggle with her altered physical form. Wise Son and other members interacted with the local community and media, asserting their presence as a dominant force in the neighborhood while maintaining their identity as a street gang rather than a traditional heroic organization. Overview

In appearance, the Blood Syndicate were a gang of humans that were 'Bang Babies' with these being Metahumans who gained their powers from the Big Bang event.

The gang was made up of two warring street tribes namely the the Paris Bloods and the Force Syndicate who waged war on the criminals of Paris Island, as well as the police force who they hold responsible for the Big Bang.

Ultimately, they were a gang who did not act out of a sense of altruism where their sense of justice was retaliation to anyone who stepped up to endanger them. They spent their early days destroying crack houses, attacking police HQs and killing without mercy. (Blood Syndicate v1 #3)
