The Baskerville Clan disrupted the coming-of-age ceremony of Oz Vessalius by manifesting within the Vessalius estate while wearing red-hooded cloaks that concealed their identities. They utilized their supernatural influence to halt the gears of a massive, long-silent clock, signaling a predestined omen of judgment. During this event, they declared that the existence of Oz Vessalius was a sin and utilized their powers to summon a rift to the Abyss, a supernatural dimension. The members of the clan physically restrained those present and successfully cast Oz Vessalius into the Abyss, asserting that his banishment was the fulfillment of a specific sentence. Following the successful displacement of their target, the group vanished from the estate, leaving the ceremony in a state of total disruption and the Vessalius family in disarray. Their actions were defined by a rigid adherence to an ancient law and the execution of a ritualistic punishment that triggered the primary conflict involving the Four Great Dukedoms and the organization known as Pandora.

Overview

In appearance, the Baskerville Clan were a group of humans transformed into Beings of the Abyss who functioned as the self-appointed observers and executioners of the world’s laws. They were physically distinguished by their attire, specifically long, crimson-coloured hooded cloaks that obscured their faces, and they frequently carried large scythes or utilized Chains—supernatural entities from the Abyss—to carry out their duties. Unlike ordinary humans, their bodies possessed an affinity for the Abyss, allowing them to traverse the boundary between the human world and the Abyssal dimension without suffering the typical physical deterioration or temporal displacement. They were led by a succession of individuals who inherited the name and soul of Glen Baskerville, a figure who served as the master of the Five Chains of the Abyss. The clan was composed of individuals who had fallen into the Abyss or were chosen by it, often manifesting red eyes as a sign of their connection to the dimension’s power. They resided within a hidden sanctuary that bypassed standard geographical locations and were tasked with the management of the 'Doors to the Abyss' held by the Four Great Dukedoms. Their existence was defined by their duty to prevent the world from falling into the Abyss and to punish those who committed 'sins' against the natural order of the world's timeline.
