Pre-Crisis

Bonnie King

As a child, Bonnie was enrolled in an archery program by her domineering mother Millie, who kept a constant and strict eye on her daughter's progress. Bonnie is exceptional at the sport, even going so far as to participate in the Olympics, netting a bronze medal. Unfortunately 'bronze' was not an acceptable color for Millie and the two argued at length about Bonnie's 'failure' at the games. After the argument, Bonnie leaves home and archery, effectively ending all ties to her mother, leading to a permanent estrangement. Living alone in Star City, Bonnie is inspired by the heroics of Green Arrow and Speedy and decides to revisit her archery skill under the guise of super-heroism. She makes a costume for herself and officially becomes Miss Arrowette. With an arsenal of trick arrows Miss Arrowette attempts to assist her heroic idols much to their dismay. Despite her impressive archery skills, Bonnie is no good at super-heroics, being both too clumsy for stealth and too vain for masks. During this interlude as Miss Arrowette, Bonnie also found time for a brief romantic affair with Oliver Queen. (World's Finest v1 #113)

Post-Crisis

Following the Crisis on Infinite Earths, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.

When she moved to Star City, would come to meet Bernell Jones who she said he was 'skinny as a Bowstring', leading to her recruiting him as her sidekick. The pair began a short career fighting crime, stopping various robberies in Star City. A short time later, she got a bad case of carpal tunnel syndrome and had to quit her superhero hobby. The two eventually married and had a daughter who was named Suzanne Cissie King-Jones. (Impulse v1 #28)

Arrowette (Cissie King-Jones)

Origin

Cissie King-Jones

From an early age, Cissie’s life was shaped by her mother’s obsession with heroism and archery. Bonnie, once a skilled archer and costumed vigilante in her own right, sought to relive her past glories through her daughter, subjecting Cissie to a rigorous and often joyless training regimen that emphasized perfection and performance over passion. Though Cissie possessed a natural aptitude for archery, her mother’s relentless demands created deep resentment, setting the stage for her later rebellion and eventual emergence as a hero in her own right. (Impulse v1 #28)

Arrowette asked Impulse to help her solve a case, and he eagerly accepted, mainly for the chance to spend time with her. She'd been tracking a criminal who broke into schools and planted post-hypnotic suggestions in computer hard-drives that made students hand over their parents money and credit cards to him. They went to a sporting goods conference, and when the lights went out Arrowette knew this was the hypnotic trigger. Impulse ran around the convention looking for the villain. He imagined it was one of the Rogues, and caused havoc assuming everything had to do with one of them. By the time he realized his mistake Arrowette told him she'd captured the criminal. (Impulse v1 #41)

Post-Flashpoint

Following the Flashpoint, a new version of reality was created with a different history of events.
