History

The Crossed Dagger of Ajanti was a mystical weapon known among occult circles in the world and one was one the only weapons capable of killing the Golden Child. The forces of evil first brought it into the world to kill the second Golden Child, the "Bearer of Justice"; his death was a great loss to the world. At some point, it was kept in a monastery run by monks in the mountains of Tibet where it was guarded and protected. Its chief custodian was Abbot Karma Tang who along with his colleagues watched over the mystical artifact and only allowed the pure of heart to retrieve it. The forces of evil brought the mystical blade into the world for the sole purpose of destroying the second Golden Child, known as the "Bearer of Justice," an act that resulted in a devastating loss for humanity. Following this event, the weapon was secured within a remote monastery nestled deep in the mountains of Tibet. There, it was carefully protected and monitored by Abbot Karma Tang and his fellow monks, who strictly guarded the artifact to ensure it could only ever be retrieved by a individual possessing a completely pure heart.

In the modern era, a powerful demon lord recognized the awakening of a new Golden Child and realized the youth could not be harmed by conventional means. The entity commanded his high-ranking sorcerer, Sardo Numspa, to track down and secure the ancient blade, identifying it as the one object capable of killing the child and plunging the world into absolute eternal darkness. Demons associated with evil commanded the sorcerer Sardo Numspa to find the Ajanti Dagger in order to use it to kill the Golden Child. This was in order to allow the evils of mankind to turn the Earth into Hell. However, as it was well guarded, Nemspa instead came before the Chosen One in a dream telling him that they were willing to trade the Golden Child for the Dagger and that he was to find it for Sardo. To bypass the temple's formidable magical defenses, Numspa infiltrated the dreams of the Chosen One, Chandler Jarrell, offering to exchange the captured child safely in return for the relic. Jarrell subsequently travelled to the Tibetan monastery, successfully navigated a treacherous trial of worthiness across a bottomless pit, and claimed the weapon to use as leverage against the demonic forces. Kala of the Secret Repository at Palkor Sin advised the Chosen One to use it as a means of freeing the Golden Child and to defeat Numspa. After travelling to Tibet, they met with Karma Tang who informed the Chosen One that only one of pure of heart was capable of wielding the sacred dagger.

Numspa and his henchmen attack Chandler and Kee. The Ajanti Dagger is lost to the villains, and Kee takes a crossbow bolt meant for Chandler, dying in his arms while confessing her love for him. Doctor Hong and Kala offer him hope: as long as the sun shines upon Kee, the Child might be able to save her. With the help of the Child's familiar, Chandler locates Numspa's hideout, retrieves the dagger with the help of Til, one of Numspa's men converted to good by the Child, and frees the boy. When Chandler confronts Numspa, he reveals himself as a winged demon. Chandler and the Child escape, only to be trapped inside a warehouse. Chandler loses the dagger when the warehouse collapses. Chandler and the Child head to Doctor Hong's shop, where Kee is being kept. Numspa attacks Chandler, but the amulet the Old Man sold Chandler protects him, then blasts the dagger from Numspa's hand. The Child uses his magic to place the dagger back into Chandler's hands, and Chandler stabs Numspa, destroying him.

Overview

In appearance, the Ajanti Dagger was a sacred mystical ornate blade that was styled in the form of a Tibetan ceremonial dagger. The ornate, ritualistic bladed weapon crafted to serve as both a sacred protective relic and a terrifying instrument of supernatural assassination. It possessed a highly specialized magical nature that remained completely inert or inaccessible to ordinary men, requiring an absolute baseline of spiritual purity from anyone attempting to wield or carry it. The weapon functioned as a singular cosmic anomaly, operating outside the standard laws of the physical world and acting as a direct metaphysical countermeasure to immortal beings. Its design focused entirely on channelled piercing efficiency, ensuring that a single targeted strike could permanently unravel the life force of a divine entity. Regarding its construction and visual traits, the dagger was heavily patterned after a traditional Tibetan phurba knife, featuring a complex three-sided structural profile. The hilt was exceptionally ornate, consisting of three stylized, bronzetone sculpted heads positioned back-to-back to form a heavy, triangular grip. The blade itself extended downward into a thick, three-edged silvertone spike that was heavily engraved with mystical inscriptions and numeric markings along its flat surfaces. This distinct, non-traditional geometry gave the artifact a heavy, antiqued aesthetic that projected an immediate sense of ancient, forbidden authority.

The ancient relic known as the Ajanti Dagger demonstrated an exceptional suite of supernatural, absolute, and anti-divine capabilities upon its retrieval from the Tibetan temple. It exhibited the unique metaphysical trait of being entirely detached from the earthly plane, meaning it was not composed of standard physical matter and could effortlessly bypass the inherent invulnerability of immortal cosmic entities. For defensive purposes, it served as an absolute anchor against demonic sorcery, completely neutralizing evil illusions and allowing a worthy user to withstand direct telekinetic assaults from hellish beings. It displayed a localized property of spatial attraction, reacting directly to the ambient magic of the Golden Child, which allowed the youth to use kinetic enchantments to instantly summon the lost blade back into a chosen warrior's hands during combat. Their offensive capabilities were absolute; a single puncture wound delivered to the heart of a demon would cause their physical form to rapidly combust, completely shattering their soul and reducing their monstrous essence to ash. The dagger also functioned as a spiritual compass, subtly resonating and vibrating when brought into close proximity with hidden infernal strongholds or shapeshifting entities. Additionally, it demonstrated a profound resurrection lock, as the weapon had to be completely recovered and cleansed before the Golden Child could safely use his solar restoration powers to bring fallen allies back from the dead.

It was said to not be of the mortal and was capable of killing supernatural beings. These ranged from the god-like to the demonic.
