- The Watchdogs were created by Mark Gruenwald and Tom Morgan where they made their first appearance in Captain America v1 #335 (Nov 1987).

- In Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.s, the Watchdogs were introduced into the shared continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They were first mentioned in the episode "The Inside Man" as an anti-Inhuman hate group. The Watchdogs made their first proper appearance in the episode "Watchdogs".
