Biography

Original Timeline

Reptile was a male Sauria who was originally an inhabitant of the realm of Zaterra that came to be conquered by Outworld. In time, Reptile came into the service of the Emperor Shao Kahn but was unaware of the fact that the warlord was responsible for destroying his home realm. His race was thought to had been extinct millions of years ago.

During the second Mortal Kombat Tournament, Reptile operated as Shang Tsung's personal protector and lurked in the shadows to ensure none harmed his master. He entered the contest in the hope of defeating all his opponents and protect his master. Afterwards, in the invasion of Earth, he was chosen to assist Jade in the capture of Princess Kitana. In contrast with Jade's instructions, Reptile was ordered to stop the renegade princess at all costs even if it meant her death. Following Kahn's defeat, the fallen Elder God Shinnok arose from the Netherrealm and waged war against the other realms. In this time, Reptile had been banished to the Netherrealm due to committing genocide against several species and had been responsible for killing millions. He later served Shinnok and operated as a General in his Army of Darkness.

After realising the deception, the enraged Reptile tracked down Nitara and Cyrax to the Lava Shrine but found that he was too late as the portal sphere had been destroyed with the two not in sight. Once there, he found the dragon egg of Onaga the Dragon King which hatched where a beam of light struck Reptile. This caused his body to be used as a vessel for a reincarnated Onaga.
