Biography
Pre-Crisis
Sue Dearbon lived as a wealthy, high-society debutante in upstate New York until she attended a formal charity gala where she encountered a costumed superhero named Elongated Man, who was operating under his civilian name Ralph Dibny. She engaged him in a polite conversation and immediately developed a strong mutual romantic bond with him, which quickly culminated in their formal marriage. Following the wedding, Sue Dibny chose to abandon her sedentary lifestyle as a wealthy socialite to accompany her husband on a nomadic, cross-country journey, traveling across the United States in a civilian automobile to investigate paranormal occurrences and regional criminal syndicates. During their initial investigation into a mysterious jewelry theft operation in a small midwestern town, she utilized her high-level social etiquette and keen analytical skills to assist her husband. She successfully decoded a series of deceptive financial records left by the perpetrators, cross-referencing the data to locate their hidden warehouse headquarters ahead of local law enforcement, officially establishing her ongoing role as the tactical administrator and logistical partner of the Elongated Man. Paris was always one of Elongated Man’s favorite cities in the world and he was thrilled to take his wife there for the first time. Sue enjoyed sightseeing and shopping but told Elongated Man she had a mystery for him to solve, as she was suddenly able to fluently speak and read French. Elongated Man pondered the situation and read a newspaper article about valuable perfume essence being stolen from an office on the Champs Elysses. Sue suddenly left, taking a cab to the Eiffel Tower, and Elongated Man followed her. The perfume thieves were meeting at the monument, discussing their plans. They were working with stage magician the Remarkable Rajah, who had the perfume essence hidden in the false bottom of his magic equipment. They were waiting for their boss, Monica, who cooked up the whole scheme when sue arrived, claiming she was their boss. The confused criminals decided to kidnap her to see what she was playing at while she continued to insist she was Monica. Elongated man tried to save her, so they pushed him off a balcony. Elongated man stretched his arms to reach a girder and catapult himself bat to the Eiffel Tower. He followed the crooks to their houseboat, stretching himself out to prevent them from escaping. Rajah fired at him but he made himself thin enough to be a hard target before swinging out his elongated arm, knocking the crooks off their feet. A crowd had gathered, and was enamored with Elongated man’s heroics. Word of L’Homme Etendu spread, making elongated man a celebrated celebrity. Elongated Man and sue returned to their hotel room where the real Monica arrived, claiming to be Sue and kissing Elongated Man. Sue snapped out of believing she was Monica, telling the crook to get her hands off her man. Monica went to prison and elongated Man theorized that Remarkable Rajah hypnotized Monica during his act, causing her and Sue to temporarily switch identities because the two women’s brain-waves were in harmony. Sue told her husband that sounded like a bunch of gibberish. (Detective Comics v1 #344)
Elongated Man went on vacation with Sue in Vermont, and he looked forward to fishing in Lake Cherokee. He was distressed when Sue said she was joining him, and debuted a fashion plate lady angler outfit. They found the lake bone dry, but when Ralph saw a man fishing in the dry lake his nose twitched, sensing a good mystery. Sue knew she was out of her element, and left for town. Ralph saw that the man was fishing with a magnet, and snagged something. Ralph followed the man to the old Ewell house, where he knocked out a caretaker, and used the key he fished out of the lake to open the grandfather clock, that led to a secret room. Elongated Man followed, and was subjected to a beating from spring-loaded boxing gloves, the deceased Ewell's idea of a security system. When he recovered he followed the crooks tire tracks to a rented cabin. The criminal, Chuck, was explaining to his old gang that he first learned of Ewell's treasures and security system when he was busted for trying to rob the place, but with the clock key he pulled off the robbery untouched. Elongated Man had heard enough, and used his fantastic powers to make short work of the gang. Ralph returned to his cabin, and Sue announced that tired or not, he was going with her to Lake Indian Head. She'd asked the locals, and it had good fishing. Ralph still wasn't sure he liked his wife sharing his interests. (Detective Comics v1 #349)

- In The Flash, Sue Dearbon appeared in the setting of the live-action televisions series set in the Arrowverse where she was portrayed by actress Natalie Dreyfuss. Sue Dearbon was born to Richard Dearbon and Penelope Dearbon where she grew up in a wealthy family. According to Ralph, Sue was a graduate of MIT and spoke six languages with her also being able to play polo. At some point, Sue disappeared, which led to her family asking Ralph to investigate and find her in June 2019. Sue went to Remington Meister's auction as January Galore, and waited in the hall before it started, where she met Barry Allen and Ralph Dibny. Later, during the auction, she bid $500 million on the Ring of Fire, but was outbid by a seemingly drunk Barry who instigated a fight on stage with Ultraviolet while Ralph fought Meister. She stayed and watched the fight, and also the activation of the Ring of Fire which targeted Central City. She left when Meister and Ultraviolet were defeated.
