Other World Tournament
The Other World Tournament was a martial arts tournament held in "celebration" of King Kai (North Kai)'s death, with each of the four Kais' champions battling for a chance to train under the Grand Kai. Goku was the winner, but the Grand Kai used a technicality to disqualify him, worried about the fact that he and other contestants, such as Pikkon, were so much stronger than he.

History
Following the conclusion of the Cell Games, Goku accompanied King Kai to the Enma Station, where they encountered the eccentric Grand Kai and his entourage of afterlife deities. Upon arriving at the Grand Kai's personal planet, Goku was introduced to the elite warriors of the four galaxies, most notably the West Quadrant’s champion, Pikkon, who immediately demonstrated his superior strength by effortlessly suppressing a riot in Hell led by Cell, Frieza, and King Cold. To celebrate King Kai’s arrival in the afterlife, the Grand Kai announced the commencement of the Other World Tournament, a massive martial arts competition designed to determine the strongest fighter among the deceased heroes of the universe. The preliminary rounds began with a chaotic battle royale on a specialized fighting stage, where Goku quickly proved his mettle by outmanoeuvring several bizarre opponents to secure his spot in the main bracket. As the fighters from the North, South, East, and West galaxies traded blows, the rivalry between the four Kais intensified, setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown where the winner would earn the prestigious honour of being personally trained by the Grand Kai.
The tournament moved into the quarter-final rounds as the peculiar fighters from across the four galaxies clashed on the Grand Kai's world. Goku faced off against Arqua, a fighter from the East Quadrant who possessed the ability to transform the entire arena into a giant cube of water, forcing the Saiyan to fight in an environment where he was at a distinct disadvantage. Despite struggling to breathe and move against the aquatic pressure, Goku utilised a Solar Flare to blind his opponent and followed up with a Kamehameha that blasted Arqua out of the water and the ring simultaneously. Meanwhile, the West Quadrant's champion, Pikkon, demonstrated his terrifying efficiency by effortlessly defeating his opponent, Olibu, who was considered the greatest hero in the history of Earth before Goku's era. Although Olibu put up a valiant effort with his immense physical strength, Pikkon’s speed and refined technique proved superior, ending the bout with a single decisive strike. As the other quarter-final matches concluded with various displays of supernatural abilities, the bracket narrowed down to the final four, leaving Goku and Pikkon on an inevitable collision course for the championship.
